I have over 30 years experience in the mental health field. I have extensive knowledge and experience working with people suffering from anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, schizophrenia, OCD, trauma, PTSD, domestic violence, complicated grief and relationship issues. For 17 years I have worked in a day treatment program where I provided individual, group and family counseling targeting clients suffering with range of issues from ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorders, physical/sexual abuse and substance abuse. There are hundreds of reasons why I became a counselor, but the main reason is the want to help guide clients into a better quality of life! Sometimes life can feel like a rollercoaster as we go through ups and downs. I am a licensed clinical social worker with 25 years in practice. I seek to provide a safe, comfortable and supportive environment in which clients can explore their struggles and how to best address them, in order to experience more peace and live more authentically. I employ a variety of techniques to achieve these goals, including CBT, psychoanalytic, coping strategies, family systems and most importantly, Rogerian based humanistic treatment. My passion is working with mom's (and dad's) who want to provide a happy and healthy upbringing for their children! I help mom's and dad's work through all of the difficult emotions that come with parenting including anxiety, guilt, shame, sadness, frustration and more. We serve individuals who are facing legal problems related to DWI, DWAI, DWAI drugs, possession charges, etc., by providing a substance use or impaired driver assessment and follow up. We also help partners and families of those experiencing alcohol or drug problems with codependency, marital and family problems. As Substance Abuse Professionals, we provide assessment, education, and treatment for DOT and other employees who have been referred to a SAP following a positive test for alcohol or other drugs.
