South Shore Counseling is a private practice on beautiful Crossways Park Drive North in Woodbury, right off of the 135! We accept the majority of major insurance plans. BMHC assists individuals, families, groups and organizations throughout Long Island NY and the five boroughs of New York City with mental health counseling, trainings and presentations as well as technical and management assistance. Our office is located in Lynbrook NY. Sessions may be held in person in our office or by telehealth. We specialize in dyslexia diagnosis and educational recommendations. As a team of psychologists trained in school settings, we can support and guide you through the special education process. We have been successful advocating for students in due process hearings as well.

I have been in the field since 2002 working with many people. I have experience with depression, self-esteem challenges, behavioral issues, issues within the relationship and family bond, and bipolar disorder. These are a only handful of the client's I have worked with. I have experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Asperger's ; however, I've worked with all types of Intellectually Capable individuals. I've also done a lot of work with parents both in the home and on the residential level. And I love working with couples. I have collaborated with veterans on many occasions and love working with them.

Greetings! Let me introduce myself. My name is Dr. Patrick Andretta. Most refer to me as Dr. "A". I am an easygoing and friendly Licensed Clinical Psychologist with 20+ years experience treating those with anxiety, depression, PTSD and adjustment issues. My patients benefit from learning productive ways of thinking that help them deal more effectively with their stressors and other life changes. I also work with the elderly and their siblings to enhance interpersonal communication for a more positive home environment, facilitating acceptance of health issues and other challenges associated with advanced age. I perform testing to assess IQ, address cognitive deficits and memory issues.

I guide my clients to see where they are being triggered, calm their nervous system and be able to communicate in a healthy way. With over six years of experience in the field, I’m an empathic and compassionate Dance/Movement Therapist dedicated to providing services for children with a variety of socio- emotional needs, backgrounds, skills, and diagnoses (including Autism, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental disabilities). I offer support for children and their families who may be experiencing challenges in areas such as social skills, behavior challenges, daily living skills, communication, body and self awareness, and more.
