Have you tried talk therapy and haven't experienced the results you were wanting? Many people that I see have tried talk therapy for years and said that the integrative approach that they experience with me is the first time they are seeing the results that they wanted. My philosophy holds at its foundation an unshakable trust in your resilience. There is a place in everyone that is innately resilient: present, regulated, and capable of being with any pain, fear, and vulnerability. I will guide you to connect to your resilience which is an empowering way to heal, as you will leave with a greater trust in yourself. daniellecarron.com

My goal when working with you is to help you learn more about yourself and the world of work through career assessments and in-depth conversations. I assist you in discovering fields of interest where you can transfer existing skills, or guide you in determining what you will need to transition to a new field. Together we identify your personal and work values so you can make an informed decision about whether a field or position you are exploring will conflict with your values. I administer the Myers Briggs Type Indicator, for couples who want a more successful relationship. I offer all services Virtually!

Have you experienced stress, anxiety, trauma, fear, or some sort of personal struggle? Trying to navigate these delicate situations can be hard alone, and I am passionate about helping individuals navigate the path to healing. If you have tried other methods of talk therapy to no avail, integrating somatic techniques such as EMDR and mindfulness based and trauma informed approaches is something I would love to explore together.

Seeking therapy can be a difficult decision. Finding the right therapist can be even harder. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker I provide patients with acceptance and understanding and create a warm, comfortable, and non-judgmental environment. I believe that healing is accomplished through a trusting and collaborative working relationship. I also have confidence that everyone has the ability to change and has the capacity for self- improvement. Therapy is a journey of self-exploration and discovery that can help guide you in gaining deeper insights into behaviors that block personal growth and fulfillment.

For some, therapy provides a space to address an acute crisis, chronic symptoms or to expand awareness of oneself and sometimes a mix of all three. I believe therapy is most impactful when it is tailored to each person’s unique needs and concerns. This looks different for everyone and might even look different throughout your journey. Good therapy can help you to make the changes you have been struggling with, identify the patterns that might be holding you back and ultimately help you to create a more fulfilling life.

I once had a philosophy professor who said their answering machine held the two most important questions we could ask ourselves. “Who are you? and “What do you want?” We don’t always know what those answers are, but we can find them out together. Whether you’ve been in therapy before or this is your first step towards change, I am confident we can create goals that are right for you. Making a change is a difficult step and I’m here to help you in that transition in any way I can. Together we will identify areas in your life that you want to see change in, and how to shift from surviving to thriving.

We can all feel lost and overwhelmed by our emotions, creating a disconnect from ourselves and others. Our anxiety can take over and we can start turning to self-sabotaging behaviors. It can feel as if it has taken over our lives and all that we are really craving is a connection, support, and tools that can help us show up differently creating more peace with ourselves and others.

Are you attempting to manage feelings that have been building up over time? You may be living with anxiety and depression, generally feeling stuck, and/or are trying to manage the personalities of people around you. Perhaps you aren’t quite sure how to talk about what’s happening; but something doesn’t feel right—things just feel off. During times like this, talking to a professional can help. I work with young adults, parents, college and graduate students including international students. I have niche specialized experience working with medical professionals such as physicians, nurses and medical trainees.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
