We’ve been through a lot these past few years, maybe longer. You somehow are keeping it together, but the feeling of thriving is distant. Maybe you are too in your head or distracted to experience life fully. Procrastination is interfering with doing the things you know would help. Perhaps resentment or dissatisfaction has taken over your relationships- Maybe your child is struggling, Or perhaps you are dealing with something more intense; gender questioning or transition; a history of trauma; a significant life change. You've been thinking about finding support, now maybe you're ready. You want to reconnect with resilience and joy

You’ve tried talk therapy but it hasn’t been very effective. You still feel anxious, on-edge, and overwhelmed most of the time and you just feel so stuck. You still feel depleted at work, stagnant in your relationships, and just generally on-edge. You’re looking for a different approach that’s goes deeper and creates lasting change. You’re tired of putting in all the work to feel better but only getting a temporary fix. I’m a somatic therapist and I help clients access trauma stored in both the mind and body, so they can actually feel better and for good.

I have had the honor of working with clients from a wide variety of cultural, racial, sexual, socioeconomic, and neurodiverse profiles who have a range of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, burnout, and trauma.
It's not just you. Countless people are feeling lost, unmoored, and stuck in old patterns, and the usual/traditional "how does that make you feel?" therapy can sometimes feel lacking. With over 8 years in the mental health field, both as a Mental Health Counselor and Psychologist, I recognize that mental health is so much more than what is happening internally. My work is rooted in the belief that mental health cannot be addressed in isolation from other aspects of your life, such as your relationships, health, community, and broader social issues and systems. Tackling all this alone can feel very daunting.

‘It gets easier. Every day it gets a little easier. But you gotta do it every day. That’s the hard part. But it does get easier' - Raphael Waksberg. Learning how to find happiness is different for everybody. Life can often feel overwhelming, whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, or family trauma. Exploring current behaviors and our personal narrative is important in understanding the self-soothing, but sometimes self-destructive cycles we live in. By identifying the source of these patterns, we can challenge them to create a healthier and happier you.

I am a LCSW with vast experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma, anxiety and depression.
Struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma can leave us feeling isolated and out of control. These feelings can be so overwhelming but you do not need to continue this stressful cycle! Therapy can help give you the space to finally be heard and take back control of your life. The therapeutic process can assist in learning more about yourself and of the dynamics within relationships with those closest to you. Together, we can work towards breaking down defense mechanisms, automatic thoughts and maladaptive coping to help you begin to move forward with a new outlook.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
