I am eager to work with you to make things better in your life! I have over 20 years of experience working with adult, child/adolescent and family issues. Many people suffer unnecessarily prior to treatment with problems such as mood disruption, anxiety, relationship stress, difficult life changes, school issues, family problems, and work stress, to name a few. We can work together to help you cope better and move forward in ways that are best for you (and/or your child/family).

If you are world-weary or looking for a creative approach to healing, you are in the right place. As both a licensed mental health counselor and a licensed creative arts therapist, board certified in dance/movement therapy, I will encourage you to attend not just to your words, but to the messages that come from your body (includes your brain). I will introduce you to LivingDance(tm), to show you how to access and work with elements of dance and movement that relate to emotions, feelings of effectiveness, and identity development. You do not need talent or training to work with them.

I view therapy as finding harmony between accepting what will be, while striving to grow toward what can be. I work with individuals, couples, and families for a variety of presenting concerns including transitional stressors, family systems dynamics, marital/relationship challenges, coping with chronic health conditions, and pain management. Whether you are working through a life transition, having difficulty communicating with your partner, or struggling to cope with chronic pain, I can offer a space of exploration, collaboration, and guidance.

Therapy offers a space to verbalize your experiences, sort through them, and connect them to feelings. This begins the process of change and self awareness. My priority is to provide a space where you can do this without judgment and feel safe, heard, and understood. I am also the kind of therapist who offers helpful insight and doesn't just sit back and listen, who can help you to see the role you play in your own life and help you grow.

Available before 2pm only- Reaching out for support can be hard, but you are not alone. Everyone has experienced their own life journey involving grief/loss, relational ruptures, parenting struggles or trauma. Sometimes this journey can leave adults in a place where it is hard to find the motivation to complete everyday tasks, manage life stress or have patience with our loved ones. This can be true for children too, which may cause them to struggle in school, have emotional outbursts or display signs of anxiety. No matter what is bringing you, your child, or family to this moment in time, I am honored to be a part of your journey.

My name is Katherine. I have a M.S. in Creative Arts Therapy from Nazareth College. I'm currently working under a Limited Permit in Creative Arts Therapy. As a therapist, I embrace even the smallest amount of growth, and value an integrated, strength-based, person-centered approach with all of my clients. I focus on what they can do and help them to develop ways to use those strengths to overcome or compensate for their challenges. I help guide my clients to discover their potential. I believe art allows people to express themselves in ways that words cannot. I want all individuals to be able to experience the healing power of art.

Are you struggling in your relationships? Feeling frustrated and shut down? Do you want to make a change but you don't know how? No doubt, life can feel unfair, overwhelming, and unmanageable. Sometimes it seems as though nothing is working, and you have tried just about everything. You are not alone. We all experience these roadblocks in our relationships, and within ourselves. You want to know that someone will understand what you are going through and can help you.

I am a psychotherapist specializing in growth-oriented counseling with adults & couples. My clients typically work to increase awareness of their present life patterns which lead to various forms of emotional distress. This pain often causes significant disruption in their social, work, physical lives or intimate relationships. Early life experiences influence how we all experience our lives today. Insights and associations during talk therapy often bring previously unseen dynamics to light leading to healthier choices and increased fulfillment. Sessions take place weekly over the course of many months or more for lasting growth.

Being an adult is HARD! Hell, life, in general, can be challenging. Sometimes, you are sad, anxious, or struggling with task paralysis. Other times, stress and conflict consume your life. It's terrifying and often overwhelming to think you can't change it alone. You don't want to hurt anymore or feel stuck and unmotivated. You want to feel whole and fulfilled. You aren't sure when or how it got so bad, but you are sure you want to find a way out. You deserve to find a way out.

Life is messy and unpredictable. This can cause anyone to feel overwhelmed, anxious, fearful, and scared as you struggle with feeling out of control. If your child has experienced trauma or is struggling to navigate the complexities of growing up, they need a safe space to express themselves and heal; a space to be fully seen and heard without judgment. Children are worthy of understanding and compassion especially in times of distress. Receiving support through an authentic relationship can help children work through their big feelings.

Struggling with substance use disorders can often be lonely, isolating and confusing. There is a lot of help offered out there, but so often what's being offered can be confusing and conflicting. Is addiction a behavior? A spiritual malady? A disease? Or is it something more? My own path of recovery took me many attempts and eventually led me to school to seek the science behind substance use disorders, to recovery rooms, to many therapists for personal recovery, and to lots of different religious avenues in search of meaning and understanding. What I found has illuminated my own path and practice. I love to pass these insights on.
