My ideal client is an individual who either has been contemplating change or is ready to make changes in their life and would like to have someone objective to talk with. I am open minded and love to learn from my clients. I think that continuing education is vital and that mental health is as important as physical health. My ideal client would be someone who would take what they think is beneficial from our session and practice it in their everyday life. Then we would discuss in future sessions how the practice went and what needs to be adjusted-if anything!

Hello my name is Heather Morrow and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker. I have 15 years of experience working with adults in a variety of settings. Dr. Barsuk’s initial counseling experience was as a case worker and mental health counselor for a therapeutic foster care agency. His background also includes experience as a school counselor and school-based mental health counselor, an eating disorder specialist, an alcohol and other drugs of abuse specialist, a traumatic brain injury specialist, and a military family life consultant. In those roles, Dr. Barsuk has treated individual clients, couples, families, and groups with concerns spanning the entire diagnostic spectrum.

Adolescents, teens, and young adults struggling with trauma, environmental stressors, familial dysfunction, and relationship problems are my primary focus. They often require a significant amount of validation and support, someone to just listen to them, and help them to feel a human connection. Their goals would be to become autonomous and independent, while creating healthy boundaries with those they cherish and love, creating the ultimate goal of putting themselves first in a way that is not selfish, but also not selfless.
