Anxiety, depression, relationship problems and stressful life transitions often trigger the desire to seek help from a psychotherapist. It is my role to create an atmosphere of trust and safety conducive to the telling of your story and challenges and then exploring new ways of working on these. I like to introduce different ways of thinking about a problem to open up various possibilities and solutions. Together, we work to move you closer to your goals.

Daily life has become challenging trying to balance our families, relationships, careers and goals. You may be feeling overwhelmed, experiencing anxiety that won’t allow you to move forward and you just can’t seem to get out of your own head. Perhaps you feel ready to take the steps to improve your quality of life, but you don’t know where to start. My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe space where we can openly discuss any obstacles and recognize patterns that may be holding you back. I now offer Telemental health sessions using a confidential computer platform so you can be in the comfort of your own home.

As a young and enthusiastic counselor with a passion for helping others, I strive to bring positive change, comfort, and stability to the lives of those who feel that they are struggling with their mental health. Personal experiences throughout life provide me with a unique and deep understanding and perspective, beyond my education, of the way that poor mental health can influence and affect our lives in a negative way. I attribute much of my success as a counselor to my ability to relate, empathize, and understand my clients in addition to using skills learned throughout my graduate and post-graduate career.

Life is full of transitions and it's difficult to deal with the day-to-day challenges of family, work, school, health, or grieving a loss. The help of a professional counselor may be necessary to get through some of these moments. I use a Person-Centered technique to create a safe space for you to tell your story. I have over 15+ years of working as a Human Resource Professional and I have seen how workplace bias impacts an individual’s mental well-being. I transitioned into Mental Health Counseling because of my passion for working with individuals and families to find a pathway to getting unstuck and navigating the unknown.

Despite having reached the pinnacle of my profession after nearly two decades of practice, it was my own struggle with learning disabilities, dual diagnosis and other medical conditions and issues, that changed my perspective and my life. I came to appreciate an approach which focuses on the here and now; solution focused and goal oriented. I found little solace in traditional therapeutic approaches which focused largely on the past, and went on for months with no real relief nor positive impact on my life or functioning. As such, I strive to help my clients achieve their goals and actualize their dreams using a coaching approach.

Therapy is not a "one size fits all." Each person is unique, individual, autonomous and complex, we all face situations in a particular way, and that is why when going to a professional, care must be personalized for each individual.

Footprints was started by a therapist who realized that often times the services provided to low socio-economic communities is lacking quality care. We noticed these communities were confronted with long wait times, disrespectful admins, and subpar treatment. The one and only purpose was to exploit the community for profit without providing the level of care deserved. Feel Better Therapy began from the inspiration to provide quality mental health care to the poorest of communities and treating the clients of this community the same way a rich patient would be treated in a clinic treating affluent clients.

New patients and referrals often ask me how I practice. My reply is usually that it is up to them! Since I have been trained and have considerable experience in a variety of approaches (cognitive, behavoral, psychodynamic, couple therapy),it really depends on which approach would be most effective and acceptable to them. Because of different personality types, people do not all respond well or the same to only one approach dictated by someones training. Most find this non cookie cutter approach and attention very effective and rewarding.
