Do you or a family member feel that life is so difficult and everything you try appears to be falling apart at the seam. Disappointment, hurt, grief and anger can morph into complicated unwanted behavior if left unresolved. Depression, anxiety, panic attacks, eating and sleep disorders can arise when life circumstances are overwhelmingly stressful. Over the years the feedback that I have received from clients is: that I am warm, caring, understanding, easy to talk to; willing to help you tell your story by asking the questions that bring out your inner voice and easily reached by phone or text.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist, practicing in New York City for over 40 years. I offer individual psychotherapy to adults and adolescents, as well as couples and family therapy. We may address a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, loss, life crises, problems in intimate relationships and troubling patterns of behavior. Inevitably the work expands to include an exploration of beliefs and self-protective ways of being that are no longer needed and get in the way of a whole-hearted appreciation of one's unique strengths, one's entitlement to make active choices and to pursue one's most authentic goals.

If you wish to take charge of your emotional and behavioral reactions regardless of what adversities you face you will like my therapy.
If you are skeptical about psychotherapy because so many therapists endlessly talk about feelings, dwell on the past, or have abstract theories that only they understand, then my sensible approach is for you. I teach you ideas to help you cope with difficult situations, challenging people, unfair burdens, acts of disrespect, disapproval, rejection, and states of deprivation. I teach you ideas and strive to get you in and out of therapy. In my view therapy should be problem-focused, efficient, sensible, and teach you how to help yourself. I do not want you to grow dependent on a psychotherapist but rather learn how to depend on you.

**I am more accessible by email!** Therapy is a bridge of communication that fosters healing, growth & insight. It's important for clients to feel safe & to have their voice heard & truly be seen. My theoretical orientation is an integrative approach that incorporates humanistic, psychodynamic & cognitive behavioral ideologies, which allows me the flexibility to give individualized care. Clients are encouraged to develop goals they hope to accomplish; explore their thoughts & feelings & the root causes of their core beliefs; learning to challenge themselves; & create healthy coping tools to assist in their healing process.

As an integrative psychologist, my approach draws upon cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, somatic and holistic modalities.

I have helped clients get through intense periods of sadness, self-doubt and major life transitions. Therapy has been used to explore and understand feelings particularly as they come up in the moment. It also encourages individuals to reflect on their behaviors, look at how their past influences the way they perceive and experience their lives and make choices that are in line with their needs.

I do not solve problems. I help you find solutions. By helping you identify dysfunctional thought and behavior patterns that don't work, and by helping you develop new and more present-based ways of functioning, I enable to live your life with greater confidence and joy.
