People come to therapy for a variety of reasons. Maybe you're feeling overwhelmed, depressed, or anxious. Perhaps you are coping with trauma, trying to make sense of a complicated relationship in your life, or are feeling stuck by a lack of change. Whatever the reason may be, my goal is to create a warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental environment. My approach utilizes humor, compassion, and supportive challenge to promote healing and foster change. Our sessions will be geared towards helping you make sense of difficult experiences and identifying patterns that don’t serve you.

Are you tired of feeling anxious, exhausted, and burned out? Do you long for a therapist that understands your cultural dynamics and related traumas? Have you been feeling riddled with grief? I believe that inside of you is your best potential waiting to be revealed to you. We are first humans before the labels society has given us and I believe we have to first expose our triumphs and ask for help before we can heal our souls. I am a compassionate person who understands the importance of not only feeling heard, but also not being judged. I use a combined therapeutic approach that is tailored and customized to each of my clients.

I have worked with all different folks in the last 20 years and still do. However, I have recently focused on gay men and the trauma of growing up gay. I am interested in what it means to be gay/queer identified in 2023, what relationships mean and how they change, and how we negotiate work, family, relationships, sex, love, and identity. I believe that growing up LGBTQ can be a trauma that needs to be explored.

Tired of feeling stuck and frustrated? You deserve to live a meaningful and fulfilling life. I can help you accomplish that in numerous ways. While I offer traditional talk therapy, I also offer Somatic Experiencing and EMDR. Both of these modalities utilize an inside-out approach, facilitating healing at a deep, somatic level that endures, rather than trying to convince yourself you are okay when you know you don’t feel it in your body. Plus, you never have to sacrifice one approach for another. We continue to incorporate other modalities, such as psychodynamic, mindfulness, and cognitive-behavioral interventions, into treatment.

If you are sufferring, in emotional pain, and wishing things would change, I would like to help. I've been trained by John Gray (of Men are from Mars fame), Dr. Sue Johnson (Emotionally Focused Therapyc- Advanced Levels) and numerous other experts to become an expert myself in working with relationship issues. Marital infidelities, overcoming fear of committment and understanding the nature of a healthy attachment to a significant other are areas in which I am able to work and help those seeking assistance.

You are looking to better understand how your intersecting identities (racial, gender, sexuality, etc) & oppressive systems (racism, patriarchy, capitalism, etc) impact your daily lived experiences. You want to, in a safe space, heal and address traumas that stayed with you. You are interested in learning what narratives are limiting your growth, and in replacing them with liberating, nurturing beliefs about yourself. I work closely with members from the BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and other oppressed communities. I have extensive experience supporting folks working through cultural, generational, and other differences/gaps with loved ones.

Finding the right therapist can be a daunting task — developing a therapeutic connection with someone is vulnerable and challenging, but it can be well worth it. I am wholly committed to equipping and empowering my clients with the necessary tools to effectively understand and manage their mental health. In my work with individuals of all ages, my number one priority is creating a comfortable, person-centered, and safely challenging environment where you can move at your own pace and trust that you will be met with understanding, support, and respect.

When you are physically ill you turn to your doctor, hoping they can help you feel better. Problems like depression, anxiety, impulsivity, uncontrollable anger, guilt, or low self-confidence can be as painful, if not more so, than physical illness; they can also create serious relationship and work difficulties. I have over 30 years of experience and I have helped many adults, adolescents, and couples who had received limited or no benefit from previous therapists, other doctors, or medications. I work well with people who are skeptical of, or intimidated by, talk therapy.
