You deserve great care, where all your experiences are welcome. I have been in practice for over 10 years and worked with thousands of patients across presenting issues and demographics. I know that sometimes taking the step to getting support and help in therapy seems overwhelming and I celebrate you for being here! I also know that the experiences you've had leading up to exploring therapy have likely been even more overwhelming, and that you deserve to feel relief, comfort, and care for and from yourself. I specialize in working with grief, loss, transition, and relational traumas which have disrupted your sense of self and joy.

Do you feel like you are not good enough? A sensation that leaves you feeling small and alone. We all feel this way from time to time. But you don’t have to feel this way anymore. My sessions offer you a safe, judgement-free space to be vulnerable and explore the feelings you no longer need to bottle-up. I aim to empower and support you in becoming the best possible version of yourself. Someone you are proud to call “you”.

I (she/her/hers/ella) believe that therapy should be accessible, trauma-informed and should help people lead lives that interest and challenge them. My therapeutic approaches are rooted in social justice with an emphasis on exploration through learning and storytelling. I believe that everyone is an expert on their own lives and that clients are best supported when they are engaged in shaping their therapeutic experiences. I support clients who identify as Latinx, queer/trans/GNC and/or neurodivergent, have an intellectual disability, as well as young adults.

Whether you are a single adult, a partner, or a parent, we all struggle with stressors such as feelings of anxiety and depression, low self-esteem, financial pressures, and difficult relationships. Therapy can be a useful way to explore where you feel stuck, and discover alternate ways to manage and cope so that you can live the life you envision for yourself. I work from a psychoanalytic and family systems lens.

I believe there is no single way of working with people who enter therapy. My goal as a therapist is to help you better understand yourself. Drawing from relational, cognitive, and trauma informed approaches, I support clients to build awareness, trust, and connection with themselves and to others. I believe that healing is deeply rooted in the therapeutic relationship and aim to create an environment that feels safe in order to heal.

I support individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, and big life transitions. I specialize in working with people in their 20s and 30s who are trying to figure out who they want to be in the world. This time can bring big decisions regarding career, relationship, and family. Often called a quarter-life crisis, it is often hard for us to maintain that strength amid uncertainty, self-doubt, and fear. I help clients experiencing a quarter-life crisis to explore problem areas and harness their inner strength and resilience.

It takes strength to pursue therapy. My approach is to meet you where you are at and go from there. Many feel they are only ready for therapy when in crisis or at their breaking point. I am here to tell you that it's ready for you whenever you need it. My style is warm, honest, and compassionate. My goal is to help you hold space for the messy parts and navigate how we can move through them together.

Life can be overwhelming with complex and unexpected stressors occurring everyday. It can also feel isolating and overwhelming when you feel like no one understands you or find someone to talk to about your struggles. While reaching out for help can be scary and even somewhat intimidating, it can lead you on a new path in finding yourself in a rewarding experience.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
