Navigating life’s circumstances can be complicated and challenging. Although we must find the strength to get past the roadblocks in our lives, we don’t have to do it alone. Therapy can help us get to know ourselves so that we can find new ways to respond when the pressure of modern living becomes too much. My aim as a therapist is to partner with you on a journey of self-discovery so that you can find satisfaction and thrive. I believe therapy can help us uncover subtle beliefs and patterns that shape our daily experiences. With greater awareness, we gain the tools to enact positive change and remodel relationships.

After college, I travelled to Chennai and Ethiopia where I practiced narrative therapy and photography. My experiences learning about eastern and western treatment modalities inspired me to move to Shanghai where I earned a masters degree in social work. As a queer woman, I have been in both the client and therapist position and have experienced and understand the need for better awareness on how to offer support and to encourage self-compassion.

Quite simply, I understand the radical value of therapy. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community with a background in the performing arts and a life devoted to mindfulness practice, I recognize how the healing tools cultivated in therapy can sustainably impact your resiliency. Just as you might strengthen and maintain your physical body through time devoted to exercise, consistent focus on your attitudinal muscles can strengthen your connection to yourself and others; this is the key to a holistic and balanced lifestyle.

Understanding who we are as individuals and what has led us to this point in our lives is an important part of each person’s journey. Often, we go through the motions of our daily routines without stopping to consider what we actually feel or how we want to live. Engaging in therapy allows you the space to pause in full awareness of yourself and take a breath. It is a space for witnessing yourself, for speaking your truth, for recognizing your needs and for honoring your journey up to this point.

In a queer practice, I talk with you in a way that I talk only with you, a way we make together, consciously and unconsciously. And I listen with you, facilitating a place you can be attuned to in new ways. As we co-create an intimate conversation, aliveness may grow in and among us.

Do you often have the sense you're not in charge of your own life? In overwhelm? I believe difficulties in living are a sign we've outgrown certain habits, behaviors or views. What may have helped us survive in the past doesn't help us flourish in the here and now. So, we find ourselves stuck - in a painful relationship, an unsatisfying job situation, or with unpleasant physical symptoms of anxiety or depression. Our suffering may be a great awakener, calling us out of the sleep of unconsciousness, asking us what it is we really want. I provide a sensitive, warm spaciousness that invites your whole self to address that question.
