In Love We Learn provides support for individuals with sensorimotor differences (autism and otherwise), their families, and their team of practitioners. Sensorimotor differences can impact so much. Life is complex, and can become even more so when considering someone living with and experiencing these differences. Families may struggle to find clinicians who can provide fulfilling guidance and support. My clients are looking for someone who can provide a unique perspective to their families' care. They are looking to build an intentional lifestyle around their loved one who is motor-impacted.

Knowing how to manage stress, anxiety, and sadness all alone can be overwhelming. Reaching out to ask for help is such a brave and empowering act. I work with people who are ready to take that first step in getting help and gain the courage to change. My experiences have lead me to work with individuals who feel stuck in life and need a supportive and non-judgemental space to get started on their goals. In our work together, let's figure out how to build skills that work best for you to start to get "unstuck" and build steps forwards.

Self-compassion is a great buzzword, but it's easier said than done. Sometimes you have to avoid or fight feelings and parts of yourself. Maybe you feel overwhelmed, worn out or conflicted. Maybe you are not satisfied with your core relationships. This could be because parts of you are stuck in past experiences and those parts are using the tools they have (like avoidance, self-criticism, anxiety...) to protect you from more pain, even though these tools don't always serve you now. Together, we can welcome and get to know each part of you slowly and safely, and introduce new tools for coping and making change.

Whether you're transitioning to a new job, anxious about a relationship, navigating a recent loss, these adjustments can feel stressful and overwhelming. I have experience working with trauma, grief, life transitions, depression, anxiety, relational difficulties, and academic/occupational issues. I enjoy working with college/graduate students and young professionals. I am trained in a range of modalities including CBT and DBT, but overall, I am person-centered, attachment based and psychodynamically oriented. Thus, I approach therapy from a trauma-focused lens, providing a safe space for clients to process all thoughts and feelings.

Life happens in the present, but often we find ourselves trapped in painful patterns borne from the past or anxious about our every move. When trauma, big or small, anxiety, or depression remains unresolved, we age but struggle to grow. At Creative Now Therapy, we foster growth by grounding you in the present and using your experiences, wounds, beliefs, and patterns to enhance your ability to tune into your body to begin to heal yourself. Your body’s wisdom is your greatest resource in truly understanding your experience. Let's turn on lights in those dark rooms and corners, so you can make choices to support your best self.

No new appts available rn. I believe that to grow and heal, you must first learn about/become more aware of yourself and how your past experiences and family dynamics have shaped you and influenced your present issues. Of equal importance is our therapeutic relationship, which will be a nurturing one. We gather the unique pieces to your puzzle, and eventually fit these pieces together to form a complete picture. We'll then have a better, clearer understanding of who you are, "why you are the way you are", and what you need to do or change to heal and be happier. My approach is relational, psychodynamic, and empathic. We are a team!

My mission is to be of help to people with a variety of goals: to live well, to create oneself, to understand more deeply and grow, and to cultivate the kinds of relationships that give life meaning and joy. A therapeutic partnership allows us to explore our patterns of living—of thinking, relating, communicating and behaving—and remake them to make life more satisfying.

Not sure where to start? Searching for the "right" words? Concerned about talking to a 'complete stranger' about your anxiety/depression, relationship/work struggles, AD[H]D/ creativity blocks? Sure I "know" about people's struggles, individually & as couples -- and how to overcome these-- as well as different approaches to therapy. I have listened to & helped many folks over 35 years as a NYState Licensed Clinical Psychologist & Certified Adult Psychoanalyst. In addition, I have been an Adjunct Associate Professor (at NYU, Brooklyn College, & several NYC psychoanalytic institutes); I was in my own analysis; & I continue to supervise less experienced clinicians.

Are you struggling with something? Anything at all? Well then, you’re looking in the right place. I believe therapy should be a part of everyone's self-exploration and self-care process. Happiness and wellness comes from so many aspects of a person’s life. Until those parts are balanced and fulfilled, then struggles may exist. Whether it’s cognitive, social, romantic, spiritual, behavioral, or any other part of your existence, it’s important to me. My goal as a therapist is to help you become the best and happiest version of yourself. I’ll be right by your side, supporting you in every step of your process.
