Trauma & stress affect us psychologically and physically, I'm trained (certified) in somatic therapies including: EMDR, Brainspotting, & NARM.
Are you tired of traditional talk therapy? Overwhelmed with feelings of anxiety, or fear and stress? Maybe you feel like you've already done "so much work on yourself" and yet you still engage in some self-defeating patterns. This may show up in dating the same dysfunctional type of person, or acting out childhood patterns at work, overworking to please your boss without being recognized. You may lack patience or sometimes get impatient with your partner/children, the same way your parents were with you. Or maybe you shut down when you need to speak up, since many of us were taught to be "good little girls and boys". I can help.

I like to think of therapy from a Body-Mind-Spirit perspective, a holistic approach that invites all our parts into the healing process, creating opportunities for change and growth. I believe therapy is a way for individuals to connect and access their own wisdom to make the changes for a life that is most inspiring and fulfilling. I combine elements of Western psychotherapy, Neuroscience and Eastern traditions. I draw from 20+ years of meditation, yoga, spirituality, and coaching background as well as extensive training in traditional and psychosensory psychotherapy: IFS, EMDR, Brainspotting, Mindfulness, Havening Technique, CBT

I am skilled in evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, Brainspotting, and Attachment-Focused EMDR.
Most people enter into therapy to gain a better understanding of themselves with the hope of living a better life. This has become a major goal for many due to the aftermath of the pandemic. Are there issues in your life that are causing roadblocks or obstacles that you can’t seem to get past? Are you dealing with battles related to trauma, alcohol and addiction, sexual identity, depression, anxiety, or shame that are setting you off balance? One may have the desire, motivation, and willingness to move forward in their lives, but may need some direction and skills that will help navigate them through these complex experiences.

I am trained in Brainspotting to get to the core of your feelings.
When you reflect on your relationships with your parents/caregivers does it bring up hurt, feelings of being undervalued, or misunderstood? Do you find yourself wading through the waters of the impact of those relationships which has resulted in struggling to see your worth, looking for others' validation, or holding those who don’t treat you well accountable? Perhaps you’re fed up with this pattern but you are unsure of how to break it.

I'm certified in Brainspotting, an amazing body-based way to transform your emotions, release trauma, and expand your performance.
To everyone around you, it looks like you've "got it together." But deep inside, you feel like an impostor. Even though your life looks great on the surface, you feel anxious, as if it could all fall apart at any moment. You'd like to be more authentic, but you worry about what would happen if other people knew the "real" you. What would happen if you really lived your TRUE self in the world? That's scary, so you put on an act. But the act is getting exhausting. Sometimes, you wonder if you've spent so much time faking it that you've lost sight of your true self altogether.

I am also trained in Brainspotting, and integrate that into my practice where it fits.
I believe therapy is a space of growth, empowerment, self-understanding, self-compassion, and catharsis in a world that makes it all too hard, especially for marginalized populations; sexual and gender minorities, folx of color, etc; communities who need and deserve such spaces because of the impact of systemic discrimination but have had the least access to it. I believe that choosing to engage in a therapy is a brave act & honor that in my approach. Through lived & professional experience as a queer South Asian acearo person, I am especially interested in identity-exploration & working with folx of color identifying as ace/aro.

An integrative approach means that therapeutic modalities grounded in neurobiology such as IFS, EMDR, Somatic therapies, and Brainspotting are blended with CBT and Depth Psychology.
A Jungian approach to therapy centers around individuation—a personal journey toward wholeness and individuality. This includes not only confronting your fears and struggles, but also discovering hidden strengths, desires, and creative potential. Depth psychology views major life transitions—such as career changes, relationship shifts, or personal crises—as opportunities for growth and transformation. Therapy is collaborative—we will work together to uncover the deeper meaning behind your life experience—supporting you to move forward with greater clarity and purpose.

Brainspotting is my most effective tool and offers deep, quick and lasting results.
Living day to day feels surreal and fake. You can remember a time when you were really you, but what happened? Pushing past panic attacks, anxiety, self destruction, anger, restlessness, fatigue, and depression is getting harder. Little did you know that bad experiences in childhood and traumas you may have forgotten are causing the dysregulation. It can feel hopeless. I can help you alleviate the stuckness you experience and offer a way out for those who do not know where to turn. I practice cutting edge Brainspotting to access the primitive brain where we store these issues. Often trauma is not healed with talk therapy alone.

How does brainspotting work?

Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.

Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?

Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.

How effective is brainspotting?

Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.

How long does brainspotting take to work?

A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
