I work with individuals 18 years and over specializing in, but not limited to, life transitions, anxiety, depression, ADHD, self-esteem, and grief and loss (focusing on family, and, friends, and our beloved pets).
Life can be stressful and overwhelming. Having a skilled therapist to help clarify your thoughts and feelings can be helpful to break down the barriers between where you are and where you want to be. As Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I’m here for you to do just that by providing a safe-non-judgmental environment for self-exploration.

Along with your goals for your child, ours will be helping them add more "shock absorbers" for life.
At The Sanctuary, we work with people of all ages. We believe that all people have infinite worth, so before working with us, know that is our view of you and/or your child already. Our clinicians have been classically trained in many of the greats (IFS, CBT, DBT, play therapy, etc.). The director has additional training in death and dying. With that being said, "Out of all of my credentials as a therapist, my most significant is that I'm a card carrying member of the human race" (Lori Gottlieb). Initially, our aims are to get to know you or your child from a strengths perspective and building a positive rapport.

You've got it together...mostly. You're a rock star at your job, you're amazing to your partner, and you love the heck out of your kids, so why does the little voice in your head STILL say "Not good enough"? You do ALL the things for everyone who needs you (because you definitely feel guilty if you don't), and on the days you're overwhelmed and running on fumes? You'll continue to push through, because saying "no" feels like letting someone down. You can't remember the last time you did something for yourself, since "self-care" sounds like selfish and "burn out" is something you passed miles ago.

I have experience with children, adolescents and adults, effectively addressing issues related to depression, anxiety, poor self-esteem, childhood trauma, personality disorder traits and symptoms, parent-child relationships, behavioral difficulties, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Living our best life authentically with our values and principles is possible yet difficult at times. The therapeutic relationship is the foundation to personal growth. The focus in my practice is psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and adults. I work in developing a trusting, safe, supportive environment so you are able to develop strategies to improve your overall quality of life through various therapeutic modalities.

There is potential for things to be okay. Whatever you're experiencing that brought you to this step may feel so huge and it may feel like things will never be okay, but they can be. Therapy is a process. It's all about throwing things out there and seeing what makes the most sense to you in a safe, open environment.

I specialize in the assessment and treatment of children who may be struggling with ADHD, behavioral difficulties, or executive functioning deficits.
At Alliance Counseling, I aim to help children thrive at their highest potential. I approach each child with the understanding that they are doing their best and come with their own inherent strengths and abilities. Difficulties with self-regulation may create barriers for some children to use these skills and abilities most effectively. My services aim to reduce those barriers. I value and respect the expertise that each parent or caregiver has of their child. Treatment takes a collaborative approach, combining the knowledge and experience of families with my clinical expertise as an ADHD Certified Clinical Service Provider.

We work with depression, anxiety, bipolar, PTSD, eating disorders, bereavement, borderline, autism, ADHD, addiction, sexual abuse, DV, medical illnesses, relationship problems, LGTBQ+, adjustment disorders and forensic cases.
Footprints was started by a therapist who realized that often times the services provided to low socio-economic communities is lacking quality care. We noticed these communities were confronted with long wait times, disrespectful admins, and subpar treatment. The one and only purpose was to exploit the community for profit without providing the level of care deserved. Feel Better Therapy began from the inspiration to provide quality mental health care to the poorest of communities and treating the clients of this community the same way a rich patient would be treated in a clinic treating affluent clients.

ADHD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
