Kidz Helping Kidz, LLC was established in 2017, because growing up can be hard. Sometimes fitting in seems nearly impossible. Many kids struggle with forming meaningful bonds and social connections. Many kids feel lonely, alienated, rejected, and bullied. Our groups purpose is to provide a safe and nurturing environment where middle and high school kids will feel included, safe, respected, happy, positive, meet peers who share similar experiences, all while learning, practicing and strengthening their social skills. It is a place to come together where there is no bullying and everyone is accepted.

As your therapist, I will help you share your story to better understand how it may be presenting problems for you in the present, as "There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you”(Maya Angelou). You may have patterns of handling relationships/situations & want to get unstuck from your usual patterns. We will practice new ways of thinking & doing in a non-judgmental and safe atmosphere. Whatever you are facing, I am here to help you through it. I have flexible hours to help people via telehealth, particularly for overwhelmed parents. I work around you/your child's hectic schedules.

Sometimes life may seem overwhelming. The children, the house, the job, the marriage, and life itself can become a struggle. When this happens seeking out an environment in which you can work through your feelings can enable you to create positive change in your life or simply make sense of the life around you. The approach I take in our therapeutic relationship is to assist you with identifying those core issues that are keeping you from being the person you want to be. While building upon your strengths, together we will identify and understand triggers that contribute to your overall unhappiness.

Have you realized yourself doing something like your mom or dad? As much as people say they would never, most of us become very much like our parents. Learning about the impact this has on your life (or your children, if any) is only a first step in solving the paradigm. Come and learn new tools to help you reach the goals you never thought you could. Because, if you are like your parents, then who are you?

I support my clients in finding a sense of ease and well-being in their lives by working through past experiences, traumas, and losses that may stand as barriers to living life fully. As a Dance Movement Therapist, I recognize the strong connection between body and mind and encourage the exploration of our bodies' wisdom in the healing process through Mindfulness, Somatic Experiencing, and breathing techniques. Through these approaches, you will learn how to calm your nervous system so that you can effectively confront past trauma, losses, and challenging experiences.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
