Dr. Liang-Ying Chou, Ph.D., LMFT is an Individual, Couples, and Family therapist, as well as an educator. Born and raised in Taiwan, Dr. Chou is proficient in English and Mandarin. She holds a national supervisor status and has experience teaching in accredited therapy programs for over a decade.

For children and families, I help them navigate the challenges of a medical situation by getting children to understand specific medical procedures and diagnosis, encourage them to be an active participant in their treatment. I also support them to express feelings over their illness, or the illness of their sibling, parents and other family members. For adult clients, I provide 'Pause and Reflect Coaching' service that through dialogue and creative means, (i.e. dance/ movement, role play etc), I facilitate opportunities for you to listen to your heart and make new decisions towards finding meaning in your next chapter in life.

I use a client-driven approach when working with clients. I will ask guiding questions to assist clients to learn more about themselves, strive to have clients to self-identify root causes of certain patterns and behaviors that they are experiencing, and provide encouragement to clients to strengthen their self-esteem and confidence. I use Internal Family Systems, DBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Coaching, and Family Dynamics Therapy systems.
