I am a Jewish, queer, neurodivergent therapist. It is my goal to provide a safe and warm environment where my clients can explore areas of their lives that cause distress. We can work together to identify unacknowledged emotions, fears, desires, and entrenched patterns so that you can live a life worth living. I am motivated in helping any client who is struggling. I bring a great deal of empathy and understanding to people who are struggling with mental health issues and it would be a privilege to come along on the journey of healing with you.

Whatever it may be that brings you to therapy, I can offer a warm, safe, and engaging space for you to explore what is getting in the way. I am interested in cultivating your awareness to allow you to uncover patterns that no longer serve you.

Do you feel lost and uncertain what your "purpose" is? Are you longing to live a more authentic, joyful life? I myself have faced these same questions. My name is Tyler, and I'm an NYC-based queer, trans & multicultural therapist. I believe that the values and beliefs that we learn in childhood can hold us back from living in alignment with ourselves and finding true contentment. In therapy, we will examine and shed unhelpful beliefs that hold you back, and uncover your most authentic self. I am passionate about supporting young adults navigating the transition out of school, dating in the city, and finding passion in their career.

Emotional distress is too often pathologized when it's a reasonable response to the oppressive systems in which we live. Instead of trying to "fix" you or help you not feel any difficult emotions, I believe all feelings hold information, and we have the power to discover what that information is and choose what to do with it. I would aim to support you by helping you name and feel difficult feelings with more ease and less overwhelm, treat all parts of you with curiosity and compassion, and determine what your emotions are trying to tell you so you can feel more relieved, empowered, and connected to yourself and others.

You are ready to celebrate the full you. You dream of moving beyond whatever is keeping you stuck in unhealthy patterns. You are tired of trying to fit into a world that was not designed for you. You want to respond instead of react, improve your connection to others, and be grounded in your body. Even when some areas of your life are going okay, things still feel hard. You may have tried therapy many times before but it never seems "to work" and you are ready to try something new.

The challenge of overcoming a personal trauma may seem overwhelming in itself; The additional burden of navigating a chaotic and sometimes harsh world may make healing feel impossible. I understand the importance of addressing the intersection of both the person and environment. As a queer, non-binary, first-generation Latinx therapist, I bring a compassionate and affirming approach to our therapeutic journey. I approach therapy with humor and kindness, honoring and empowering your voice, while gently challenging any patterns you may be stuck in.

Self-compassion is a great buzzword, but it's easier said than done. Sometimes you have to avoid or fight feelings and parts of yourself. Maybe you feel overwhelmed, worn out or conflicted. Maybe you are not satisfied with your core relationships. This could be because parts of you are stuck in past experiences and those parts are using the tools they have (like avoidance, self-criticism, anxiety...) to protect you from more pain, even though these tools don't always serve you now. Together, we can welcome and get to know each part of you slowly and safely, and introduce new tools for coping and making change.

I'm happy you're here! I'm an NYC-based mental health counselor passionate about co-creating healing relationships with teens 14+ and adults. I know that the past few years of a global pandemic and global unrest have been difficult, but its also allowed many of us to slow down and reflect more honestly on what's no longer serving us. Maybe it is an old habit, narrative, or belief system that's holding you back or maybe you've discovered something new about yourself you want to explore more deeply. Whatever's brought you to this courageous point, I'm honored to walk in this journey with you and help you embody your truth more fully.

I believe that genuine relationships have the power to heal. And the relationship between a client and therapist is a particularly unique bond. Irvin Yalom has described this relationship as one of 'fellow travelers' on an adventure of mutual growth and discovery. As your fellow traveler, I’ll stand alongside you as an active collaborator on your journey. My hope is that together we can uncover the most expansive and alive version of yourself. Together we will create a space where all parts of you are welcome. As women and queer people, we’re often conditioned to think there are fragments of ourselves that must remain hidden.

Are you struggling with difficult family dynamics or a lack of support from your environment? Are you finding that the tools that you have turned to cope, like substance use and avoidance, has taken hold of your life? Are you feeling exhausted or constrained by treatment that sees your experience as a disease and dispenses formulaic solutions? You are not your symptoms and you deserve care from someone who wants to join you, sees you as the multi-layered complex person you are and supports your vision of healing in mind.

My name is Toi-Shareema Grayson. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey. I am a proud Black African American raised by my mom, grandmother, uncle, and aunt, whom were all instrumental in my rearing. Surrounded by hard working family is where I gained my reliable work ethic, as well as my passion to work with people. Transitioning into counseling working directly with people just made sense to me. If you are ready to unpack your concerns, work through your challenges, set goals for yourself, and begin your healing process congratulations on taking your first step.
