I draw from approaches such as CBT, DBT, Internal Family Systems, mindfulness/Somatic work, Narrative Theory, and EMDR.
Are the following thoughts familiar to you? "I feel so alone" "They don’t understand me" "I need help". Do you struggle with not feeling good enough or believe that you're failing to move forward? Whether in your romantic relationship or personally, I’m here to help you find relief. Most individuals I work with are looking to process confusing feelings. Couples I work with are often looking for support getting back on the same page; or navigating a consensual non-monogamous (open) relationship. I’m a queer woman who provides therapy to those desiring a change by actively working to change patterns they find themselves stuck in.

My therapeutic treatment is an individual personalized plan (IPP) that starts by assessing client’s expectations and goals and progresses into a tailor-made treatment. "Starting with The End in Mind", states Covey, S., clients bring to therapy their own narratives to which expect solutions. As we unfold, several plots emerge. With the ultimate client's goal in mind, our sessions take a ride in the client’s journey thru past, present and future. Whereas seizing the present is the key, looking ahead and glancing back at the past gives it a re-significance as the past does live in our present and is strong enough to shape our future.

I use an integrative approach pulling from Psychodynamic, Internal Family Systems ( IFS), Compassionate Inquiry (CI), CBT, DBT, Somatic and EMDR depending on the needs of each client.
If you are looking to uncover the roots of your painful emotions, finding yourself in patterns that are not serving you, curious to work through trauma, and/or in need of support to cope with all that life can throw at you, I am here for you. My clients tend to be more resilient than they realize, and I am here to help you utilize that strength. Together, we can process whatever it is you are dealing with presently and make space to address what you may have endured in the past and not yet had a chance to process and heal from. Together, we will help you release your burdens so you can live the life you want to live.

Using proven approaches like IFS and EMDR, I help women like you transform their relationship with anxiety and trauma.
Are you a high-achieving woman who looks perfectly put-together on the outside, while running on an endless treadmill of responsibilities? As a professional, entrepreneur, or mom (or all three!), you've built an impressive life that others admire. But beneath that capable exterior, you're grappling with anxiety that shows up at the most inconvenient times, carrying the weight of past experiences that keep resurfacing, or feeling emotionally exhausted from constantly being "on."

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists

What is Internal Family Systems therapy?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
