I welcome the opportunity to work with couples who are experiencing relationship issues and/or family conflict to find creative ways to resolve the conflict and strengthen the relationship. I also enjoy working with individuals who have experienced negative life events. Exposure to trauma at an early age often affects our lives as adults in profound ways making it difficult for us to maintain healthy relationships, to cope with stressors in non-destructive ways and to experience a consistent positive self image.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with many years experience helping adults, adolescents, children, and families with a wide range of needs, including behavioral issues, emotional difficulties, relationship struggles, trauma, PTSD, substance abuse, etc. I have found a variety of therapeutic techniques integrated in a creative and flexible manner to be the most effective at facilitating growth.I have great respect for the counseling process and consider working with my clients an important privilege.

GRIEF: A natural response after a loved one dies, family separates, job loss/change, a newly blended family, retirement, caregiving for someone you love, dealing with a difficult diagnosis, an unexpected change or losing a beloved pet. I primarily work with children and adolescents who struggle with anxiety, ADHD, life transitions, sibling difficulties and parent-child relationship challenges. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor I have worked for almost a decade supporting children, adolescents and their caregivers. I strive to create a safe and nonjudgmental environment for emotions and thoughts to be explored by children, adolescents and their caregivers.

Hi! I'm Gloria Zukoski, LCSW. I have been working in the helping field for 13 years. When I began my career in the helping field, I worked with children with developmental disabilities in a school setting; then moved to a residential placement for adults with developmental disabilities. During my master’s program, I started working more with children and families impacted by mental health and found my passion. I have since had experience in community-based, residential, healthcare, school, and outpatient clinic settings. I work mostly with people ages 5-35 diagnosed with ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, perinatal/women’s health issues.

I have experience working with adults, children, couples, families and groups and treating a variety of diagnoses including anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, ADHD, PTSD, grief, eating disorders, OCD, self injury, mood disorders, personality disorders, and substance abuse. I often use mindfulness techniques, creative arts therapy, DBT and CBT to help clients find balance and joy.

I currently hold a graduate permit to practice as a licensed behavior analyst in New York State. I have over 20 years of experience in working with both neurodivergent and neurotypical children and their families. Parents hire me to give them tools so they feel confident in how to respond effectively to their child's behaviors.

Seeking therapy for your child can be extremely stressful. I believe that when a child faces difficult times, it's crucial that they're supported and taught skills in order to help benefit their future. I strive to provide a safe space for clients to process experiences, gain new skills and feel supported on a journey towards empowerment and self-discovery. I am currently being trained in Dynamic Deconstructive Psychotherapy; originally created to help adults with borderline personality disorder, it can aid with other serious conditions.
