I believe in client centered work and meeting individuals where they're at. One method or therapeutic style does not work for everyone, and I believe in being present and non – judgmental. These are core principles in building a healthy therapeutic alliance. I have held many hats and played many roles in the field and have worked with a wide range of individuals of all ages and backgrounds. I help individuals gain insight and confidence that they can navigate through the world on their own speed and time, helping them to appreciate their process and be proud of whom they are.

With 25 years of experience, I utilize talk and art therapy to help you find your voice whether it be about a current situation that is causing you distress or something from your past or future. We hold on to thoughts, behaviors and feelings that seem too overwhelming to share with others. We fear vulnerability. We run from difficult feelings/thoughts and feel ashamed of our emotional "baggage". Then, we try to hide under a mask because of shame, fear, and anxiety. Hiding in shame only makes us feel isolated, empty and experience self hatred. We become disconnected from ourselves, others and feel painfully lonely.

Life can be quite stressful impacting how we feel on both a physical and psychological level. This can lead to depression and/or anxiety, which at times can negatively impact every area of life. There are many ways of coping that can help you become stronger in this process, leaving you with a more positive experience both within yourself and in your relationships. Letting go of old ways of living life that keep you stuck is not so difficult, it just takes acknowledging that this issue exists and skills (you already posses) that I can help you get back to.

My practice utilizes a client-centered approach, which encourages clients to be in the driver seat of their own experiences. I foster an environment that helps create a strong therapeutic alliance, while also incorporating approaches that encompass holistic and collaborative dynamics. I believe we are all made up of parts and that they show up in different ways to support and protect our inners selves. I work with my clients to have a better understanding of their parts, how they interact, and how these parts show up in the day to day. I believe knowledge in oneself is empowering and leads to individual growth.

In my work, I aspire to create an atmosphere of safety, respect and trust, a space where judgement is suspended and we can freely explore and understand your needs, motivations and goals. Therapy could be used in many ways. You could choose to focus on particular symptoms, or develop strategies for certain situations. You may also use therapeutic space as a kind of playground where you can let yourself go, experience your inner reality and reflect on what happened to achieve greater self-awareness. My goal is to meet you where you are.
