Often the clients I see are at a crisis point in an important relationship. The discovery of an infidelity, coping with a breakup, the launching of kids into college, the rollercoaster of dating, negotiating difficult family dynamics, divorce, remarriage and conflicts in the workplace, are issues in which I have expertise. I also specialize in treating high school age teenagers who are coping with shifting friend groups, self image and the typical growing pains of school and relationships.

In a world where change is the only constant, it is a known fact that issues, difficulties, and needs will arise. As time passes, these same constants will also evolve. An ideal client is one who can accept change, as we work together navigating the rough waters and to find each client their sense of stability throughout the constant. Creating a client who is the best version of themselves they can be. A created client engineered by his own diligence to find happiness, to find stability, and become a Captain who can navigate through all waters. I will do my best to help you find your best. Your life is yours! Be The Best At It!

Raising well adjusted children and keeping your marriage healthy and strong is more challenging than most people expect. In our fast moving and highly competitive environment, it can be extremely challenging to maintain healthy self esteem, strong connections and perspective. Sometimes we feel lost, disconnected and alone. When life hurts, it is possible to turn our conflicts into opportunities for connection. Allow me to help you identify and break the negative patterns that are threatening your relationships.

Research shows that the relationship with your therapist is the single most important factor for a successful therapy. I have 30 years of experience helping a diverse group of people with a variety of issues. The constant that I bring is my ability to tune in to what you tell me on different, often deeper levels. I do so without judgment and with a genuine sensitivity and desire to help you explore your own internal voice(s). By honoring and embracing the different parts of yourself, you will be able to better tap into your own internal source of vitality.

Have you ever been asked, ‘Are you okay?’ and felt like your world was about to come crashing down just by hearing those three words? Emotions can be overwhelming. They are even more overwhelming if we try to deal with them alone. These overwhelming feelings may result from trauma, relationship troubles, stress from work or school, major life transitions, unconscious beliefs, etc. However, no matter what we may have experienced, we all have an innate ability to grow, change, and thrive. I work mainly with adolescent and young adult populations with a focus on anxiety, depression, and self-esteem.

It's a great strength to be able to ask for help during challenging times. Whether you are facing immediate stressors or want to address more long-term issues, my approach to therapy is interactive, supportive & empathetic. I value establishing a comfortable, nonjudgmental & meaningful therapeutic partnership; I feel the most important element of effective psychotherapy is a genuine connection between patient & therapist. While providing a warm, safe & nurturing environment, I aim to help you identify strengths, reduce distressing feelings, undo any patterns of behavior that aren't serving you well & create positive changes.

I facilitate recovering from infidelity by moving beyond shame into meaningful bridge building to restore trust.
Perhaps the two of you are having trouble communicating. Maybe you have just had another useless fight. You may have even thought of divorce. You know you don't want that. Maybe one of you has a job requiring travel or late hours. The time left goes to your kids. In the middle of the night, you realize you are losing each other. Imagine having the tools resolve fights before they end up in the kitchen sink or the attack-blame dance. You want to feel your partner respects you and will have your back. Regain the freedom to laugh and to enjoy hanging out with each other again.

Have you contemplated cheating or divorce to solve the loneliness and regret? I can help! I enjoy sitting with couples as they sort through the tough stuff.
Why do we keep arguing about the same things over and over again? I've tried to forgive you but I can't stop thinking that I would be happier with someone else. I don't know if it's worth the fight anymore. We've grown apart and I don't remember the last time we've experienced real connection, maybe you've never even loved me. I'm insecure and doubtful that things will change. Everyone says I deserve better. I'm not sure where we are anymore and I need support getting back to love. I just need a safe space without judgement to be vulnerable and say the things that I'm really feeling. Have you found yourself asking these questions?

Infidelity Therapists

How does therapy for infidelity work?

A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.

How long does therapy for infidelity take?

Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.

How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?

When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.

How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?

Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
