Some of my areas of interest are CBT, ACT, DBT, Gottman Method for couples counseling, and narrative therapy.
Your journey for personal growth is a unique one. My goal is to help you become your best self. I believe in the importance of self-love, self-care, self-worth, self-esteem, and self-confidence. I believe in the significance of healthy interpersonal boundaries, the power of curiosity and vulnerability, and how essential it is to live life according to your values. Sometimes you may struggle to know your purpose, your goals, your identity, or trust yourself. It is normal to have mental health issues from time to time, but there is hope! No matter where you are in your journey, I would be honored to be a part of your growth process.

I'm person centered and use a DBT approach in my work.
I enjoy and work primarily with women of all ages, as well as members of the LGBTQIA+ community. I also focus attention on identity and career development, as well as tending to ever evolving relationship dynamics, including family of origin topics and sexual issues. I appreciate working with clients who are naturally curious, growth oriented, and open for feedback, as well as whom have goals of improving both communication and emotional expression throughout their lives.

I primarily utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, though, I'm always open to new learning opportunities to best support my clientele.
My work is fast-paced, to the point, and focused on the issues that cause my clients the most distress. I work with kids, teens, and adults and I use only evidence-based theoretical models that are proven to work through research, such as CBT and DBT. Others describe me as easy to get along with and open up to and I'm hopeful I can meet your expectation when we have the opportunity to connect and work through whatever challenge has come your way.

In our sessions we'll be utilizing evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy ( DBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness practices to treat symptoms of trauma.
I specialize in working with adult and teen survivors of childhood trauma and grief. My clients grapple with daily tasks that can feel overwhelming, and connecting with others often becomes a challenge. Fear of judgment or rejection can lead to withdrawal, resulting in feelings of loneliness and isolation. Symptoms such as low self-esteem, trust issues, and intense emotional dysregulation make it difficult to reach out. Sleep is often disrupted by nightmares and flashbacks can bring back painful memories. Healing from trauma symptoms is possible, and you don’t have to do this alone. With the right support you can reclaim your life.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists

Who is DBT for?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?

The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?

Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?

Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
