My ideal client feels ready for change but may be unsure of where to start. They might be dealing with anxiety, depression, or navigating a significant life transition. As a BIPOC therapist, I understand the unique challenges that come with navigating cultural identities and systemic issues, and I offer a space where these experiences can be explored openly. My clients want clarity, healthier coping skills, and the ability to communicate more effectively in their relationships. Ultimately, they’re seeking growth and balance, driven by a desire to feel more in control of their life and more connected with themselves and others.

I've spent many years evaluating and observing people. What I've found is that many of their symptoms, anxiety, depression, substance abuse or other addiction issues, etc. usually stem from one or more traumatic experiences they've had. I define a traumatic experience as any event in a person's life that causes one to make a person feel unsafe. What happens next is that even if people don't remember in their mind, their bodies usually do and this causes a person to feel unsafe no matter where they are.

My belief is that a therapeutic relationship allows for a partnership to help navigate life's challenges. I work hard to provide a safe, trusting, and validating environment for every client. I believe everyone is equipped with the skills and tools they need to be the best version of themselves, and counseling helps us to connect with, and better utilize those skills and tools. I have experience working with adolescents, couples, military/first responders, mood disorders, childhood trauma, and religious trauma/issues. I utilize CBT, EMDR, ACT, and somatic/mindfulness modalities during sessions.

We are all on this “spectrum” of humanness. Sometimes being a human is hard. Sometimes it is joyful, sometimes it is exhilarating, sometimes it is liberating, and sometimes it can be devastating. Welcome to your journey within the human condition. Reaching out can be difficult, but part of the human condition is that we are social creatures, and we need the tribe to survive. I believe that with the right resources and internal strengths, empowerment and guidance, we can be our best selves and learn to love the self that we are or have become, or who we have been – regardless of our past, current, or future circumstances.
