I have completed additional training related to OCD, anxiety, and ADHD.
When working with me, you can expect to feel understood, supported, and gently challenged to make shifts that will move you forward. Whether your focus is on strengthening your relationships, navigating difficult life transitions, or "unsticking" yourself from depression, anxiety, or trauma, our work together is aimed at empowering you to create positive change. When we experience stress and anxiety, our bodies & relationships can feel overwhelming. Therapy can be an investment into looking at what is getting in your way and examining the patterns of rumination and distress that no longer serve you.

I’m Angie, a Clinical Psychologist with years of experience supporting teens & adults with ADHD & Autism.
Let’s be honest. You’re not happy with your life. You feel alone, like an outcast, and not welcomed by others. Despite your efforts, nothing has been able to change and you’re not sure why. It hurts. You’re tired of feeling rejected and waiting for the good stuff of life to happen for you. Maybe you’re a parent of a teen or young adult with ADHD or autism. You see them struggle in school, friendships, & the transition to adulthood. You’re concerned they may be too isolated, spending time in their room on their devices. Sometimes things get heated and they struggle with strong emotions. You want to help them, but you’re not sure how

Neurotherapy/Neurofeedback is a form of treatment that allows one to modify their brainwave activity to improve attention, reduce impulsivity, and control hyperactive behaviors. It utilizes an EEG to provide a person information about their brainwave activity and produce desirable changes. Extensive empirical research (AMA & JAMA) support Neurotherapy for the treatment of ADHD and seizures. Scientific studies also support Neurotherapy in the treatment of anxiety, depression, chronic pain, TBI, addiction, insomnia, psychosis, and bipolar disorder, as well as other Psychiatric and Neurological issues to achieve neuroplasticity.

As an ADHDer who specializes in working with other ADHD (and mixed neurotype couples), I’ve supported many folks who have wrestled with the same challenges as you.
It feels like you and your partner speak different languages. You make well-intentioned commitments, but struggle to follow through. This leads to frustration and resentment. You're always running late, and one of you feels burdened by needing to "pick up the slack" at home. Sometimes, ADHD makes it difficult for you to give your partner the attention and support that they need. To others, it seems like you have it all together. You recognize that this is because you're "masking," and everything falls apart when you get home. This struggle makes difficult to enjoy your time together. You've decided it's time to make a change.

It’s very possible that you’re not lazy or unmotivated but instead dealing with symptoms of undiagnosed ADHD.
It’s 8 pm the night before your work project is due, and the pressure is on. Your boss assigned this three weeks ago, and you kept telling yourself you had more time. Now, there are less than 12 hours to hand it in, and you haven’t even begun. But, rather than finally starting, you look for anything else to do. “The oven could use a deep clean,” you decide to yourself. You watch the clock tick, and your stress builds until you have no choice but to start, but by then, it’s too late to do it right. So you hand in the work late again, rushed and full of errors. You hate letting yourself and others down but don’t know another way.

My specialties include anxiety, depression, ADHD, LGBTQ+, trauma and PTSD, neurodivergent, behavioral issues, First Responders, Veterans, and parenting.
(I currently have some limited immediate openings!) Counseling is a way to discover how we can live with our past, live in the present, and face an uncertain future daily. Most of us, given the time and information, and someone to talk with, could figure out how to manage the things that are challenging for us. Counseling helps us learn how to manage our emotions and find ways to face daily challenges. Through counseling we can learn the skills to manage our strong emotions, as well as have empathy for ourselves and others in dealing with tough life situations. I especially like supporting young children and their parents.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.
How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.
Are there specific medications for ADHD?
Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.
How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
