People get hurt, frustrated and discouraged for a number of reasons. Some people create their own troubles through wrong decisions and actions. Many people suffer at the hands of others or simply because of circumstances beyond their control. This is especially true for those who are facing tough times through no fault of their own. Everyone struggles sometimes, but there are times when we need help to get through those struggles and therapy is a really good way to do just that! Some of the struggles that people come to talk to me about include procrastination, lack of motivation, worry, and difficulty enjoying life in general. For the basis of my clinical practice, I work from a humanistic client-centered approach based upon Carl Rogers' view that people "are trustworthy, resourceful, capable of self-understanding and self-direction, able to make constructive changes, and able to live effective and productive lives". As a counselor my job is to help remove barriers to change once that is done the individual can proceed on their natural path toward growth and self-fulfillment. Although this is my primary basis for treatment, I will also utilize other therapeutic tools to meet your treatment goals.

As a therapist I have learned every client is unique in their experiences. Their sense of themselves, their outlook on life, needs and expectations are individualized and no single method or theory is helpful to everyone. I approach each client and session with an open mind, and self awareness while exploring with the client what was, what is, and what can be.

Accepting new clients and I currently have immediate openings. My goal as your therapist will be to help my clients learn new skills, manage stressors, learn new tools and skills and to learn to be able to utilize these tools to take steps towards positive life changes and reaching their goals. My approach to treatment is to be mindful of meeting clients where they are and using individualized approaches for each client.

Mrs. Jones has a Bachelors in Human Service Management and a Masters in Psychology. She’s a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Intern. Throughout her career she’s volunteered as a CASA and worked as a QBA, QMHA, and ABA. She specializes in individual, couples, families, and child therapy. She brings a unique perspective to family therapy as she has worked in the behavioral and mental health field for some time now. Mrs. Jones facilitates community youth groups and IOP‘s. She has experience working with clients who have ADHD, PTSD, impulse control, personality disorders, and mood disorders. Mrs. Jones is also trained in EMDR.
