For over 18 years I have passionately worked with youth to overcome challenges, helping them undermine this idea that they are “less than.” For 8 years I worked with adjudicated youth at a juvenile detention camp where hope lingered. For 8 years I have worked for an emergency response team tailored to helping youth with an array of problems including suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, and self-harm intentions. I have learned to meet folks where they are and slowly walk with them at a pace where they wish to be, a more viable and attainable life.

My approach to therapy is direct and solution-oriented, with a balancing measure of warm support and compassion. It is a priority that you feel safe and understood here. I will also appropriately and respectfully challenge you at times; you did not come to therapy to keep things the same. I act as a mirror, helping to identify and reflect back to you things that you may be unaware of that are contributing to the problem. With this new insight, we then decide what kind of action may be needed, wanted, and/or possible. Sometimes insight and understanding alone are enough; other cases require more.

Our primary goal is to help our clients achieve a higher quality of life by teaching them ways to heal their minds and bodies. Our approach to therapy is highly personalized, utilizing holistic wellness practices and innovative interventions to guide our clients towards finding meaningful solutions and experiencing more joy in their daily lives.

I have over 8+ years of clinical experience across a variety of settings including inpatient psychiatric hospital, crisis intervention, outpatient, the Clark County School District (CCSD), and in private practice. I work with children (ages 5-12 y/o), youth, adults, couples, families and maintain an affirming stance for individuals who identify as members of the LGBTQIA+ community. I have colleagues at Sound Mind Counseling who are also Spanish speaking and have years of experience if I am not readily available.

Hi, I'm glad you're here. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT). I obtained my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Cappella in 2014. I have 15+ years’ experience in mental health working in various settings through my career as a therapist including group homes, shelters, schools, in homes, and in an outpatient setting. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults on an individual basis.
