I work with individuals and couples working to overcome childhood emotional neglect, trauma, depression, anxiety, identity, life transitions, low self esteem & self worth, marital issues, and family issues through the use of Parts & Memory therapy, EFT, DBT, Art therapy, and Psychodynamic therapy.
Do you find yourself wondering why you feel so different from everyone else or how everyone else seems to be able to be so "happy" but not yourself? Do you find yourself wondering why you can't make the changes you want to make? Humans are highly adaptable beings and sometimes these adaptations can harm us later in life. My clients and I work together to understand how their past affects their present life and how they can create new behaviors to create a life aligned with who they want to be.

I utilize various modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, or dialectical behavior therapy.
Has your child or adolescent’s behavior suddenly changed? Has your family undergone recent changes that could have impacted your child? Does your child appear more anxious since the pandemic? Has your child withdrawn from family, friends, or school? The demands for psychological services for children and adolescent mental health are at an all-time high, especially within the Las Vegas community. As a licensed psychologist, former educator/school counselor, and member of the Las Vegas community for the past 24 years I have an expansive understanding of the needs of children, adolescents, and families.

I utilize Existential and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, along with biofeedback training, to assist adults struggling with existential crises, depression, and anxiety disorders.
Pain can either define us or serve as the driving force for personal growth. I have dedicated an extensive amount of time to working with children, teens, parents, and adults who struggle with impulse control, existential crises, emotional challenges, and behavioral disturbances. I firmly believe that knowledge alone is insufficient; true change goes beyond conceptualization—it requires action. Clients require proven tools to actively pursue self-sufficiency.

Drawing on concepts from CBT, DBT, and depth psychology, I help my clients improve relationships, learn life skills, process trauma, and experience positive changes at home and at work.
I believe we each have an incredible capacity to learn and grow with the proper support and guidance. I work with adults and couples who see a gap between where they are and where they would like to be - whether personally, professionally, or in relationships. Many have wounds from the past that prevent them being where they want or need to be in the moment. I help my clients narrow that gap with new strategies, insight, tools, and manageable goals. I have experience working with professionals, athletes, students, entrepreneurs, retirees, blended families, geriatric clients, LGBTQ+, veterans, and neurodivergent clients of all ages.

I teach Mindfulness and somatic interventions as well as DBT and relapse prevention skills.
It takes courage to admit that what you've been doing is no longer working for you or your loved ones. Together we can explore new ways to cope and make the changes you ultimately desire. You have already taken the first steps to make a change just by acknowledging that you are no longer comfortable with the way things are. I'd like the chance to meet you and answer any questions you may have.

Accepting New Clients!!!! My name is Jacqueline Anthony, and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of California and Nevada. I began my career in counseling in the 1980’s when I served as a Correctional Counselor for the California Department of Corrections. While working for the Department of Corrections, I received many life lessons that inform my practice today. Though too numerous to mention, the most salient points include the resiliency of the human spirit, the resolve of a vision, and the truth that our true and lasting wealth is “this moment, this hour, this day.”

My ideal clients are adults 18-35 who struggle to understand why they feel something is "wrong" with them, missing from their life or who struggle with understanding, regulating and processing their emotions. My ideal client wants to find clarity and understanding of their past experiences and how they influence their behaviors presently while learning skills and utilizing tools to create a life aligned with their truest selves.

Whether new to therapy or not, my clients come to me looking to expand their personal growth, gain new mindsets, and learn to navigate those inner, choppy waters that keep them up at night. Being human is messy and I love the messiness of being human. My clients are able to build a new solid ship and stronger sail to navigate the endless seas of possibilities ahead of them. Our journey together can focus on your relationships, family, work, or, just you; but let's always start with you. It can be scary and confusing facing your fears on your own. I am here to be your guiding North Star.

Do you want results? Are you finding that you keep getting in your own way? That your emotions, trauma, pain, past experiences and anxiety are preventing you from living the life you are meant to live? Or perhaps things are just not clicking no matter how hard you try? The good news is that there is always a way, a technique or perspective that can and will shift you and your life. The catch? You need to be willing to step into the unknown and get uncomfortable.

Hi there! Working with a therapist can be scary and overwhelming. You may wonder what therapy will look like, how you should act, and what you should say. In our time together, I will strive to help you feel comfortable to be yourself and ease those worries. As an attachment-based therapist, I believe it is the relationship between you and I that matters the most. My goal is to create an environment that will suit your personality and the goals you have for yourself.

I believe that human beings have an amazing ability to adapt to extremely difficult situations, but sometimes using old coping strategies can encourage toxic situations at home or at work. When the tendency to accommodate others and the desire for approval goes unchecked, we betray our authentic sense of self and undermine our success. This is particularly true with adults suffering from symptoms related to childhood trauma, addiction, and those who have had to "mask" due to neurodivergent experience. Using evidenced based treatment, I work with adults and couples to create their best lives.

For over 18 years I have passionately worked with youth to overcome challenges, helping them undermine this idea that they are “less than.” For 8 years I worked with adjudicated youth at a juvenile detention camp where hope lingered. For 8 years I have worked for an emergency response team tailored to helping youth with an array of problems including suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, and self-harm intentions. I have learned to meet folks where they are and slowly walk with them at a pace where they wish to be, a more viable and attainable life.

Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.
Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.
What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.
How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
