I work best with high functioning people who are successful in life but need someone to talk to to better understand themselves and their growth/development potential. Often my clients are successful people in High Tech or other industries who want to brainstorm about challenges at work. I also work with people who want to make a career transition. I work with couples and families to resolve conflict and work out better ways of relating. Other topics include parenting, issues with children, finding meaning at a later stage in life.

Hello! Are you tired of surviving, and ready to thrive? I specialize in working with clients who have a parent or partner with narcissistic traits. If you've been surviving for years, or decades, it can be hard to believe, but you can heal from narcissistic trauma, and create the life you deserve! Let's talk about how attachment therapy and emotionally focused therapy can help you see yourself positively and love yourself unconditionally. If you don't remember your traumatic memories, or it's hard to find words, that's not a problem. We'll use parts therapy, tapping, online sandtray, or art therapy so you can heal from trauma.

I work with individuals who are ready to make positive changes in their lives. I utilize a holistic approach in my sessions to ensure that my clients have the tools necessary to maintain balance in all areas of their lives. My main priority is to create a safe, accepting environment where my client’s feel comfortable to open up, breakthrough emotional barriers, and get past inner dialogue that is not longer working for them. I utilize hypnosis, neuro-linguistic programming, brainspotting, Parts and Memory Therapy, person-centered therapy, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapy in my practice.

Are you looking for help with alcohol and/or drug misuse? Do you feel like partying has developed into a bigger problem? Dealing with substance misuse involves two things- changing the actual substance use itself and addressing the reasons for use in the first place. Most places that treat addiction treat one or the other- but we will do both. This gives you the long term results that you're after!

Attachment-based Therapists

Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?

Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?

Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?

Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?

Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
