I am trained in Brainspotting, EFT-Tapping, Narrative Exposure & EMDR.
Do you find yourself violating your personal and/or professional integrity? Do you react to situations either with agitation, aggression or avoidance? Whether you suffer from anxiety, CPTSD, PTSD, depression or struggling with daily life stressors the symptoms can be overwhelming. I have been in the mental health field for over 10 years in many different roles, as a clinician since 2016. I have a collaborative, narrative approach to therapy through therapeutic conversations.
I love to help people grow, heal, change, and become fully alive in themselves and their relationships. My hope in therapy is to create a relationship built on safety, trust, and hope, where people feel accepted and challenged to grow in new and meaningful ways. When we are struggling in life, feeling stuck, hurt, confused, or alone, we all deserve a place to talk with someone who we know will not judge or shame us, but instead who will walk alongside us and help us create change, finding our hope and strength.

In addition to CBT, DBT, and Narrative therapeutic models, I often use a trauma informed approach that seeks to create connections between our past experiences, core beliefs, and their impact on our everyday lives.
Welcome and thank you for considering me in your therapeutic journey! Getting started and taking steps toward growth and change is a real challenge, and one that has led you to this website. Others described me throughout my life as as lighthearted, approachable, and a person who lends a "good ear." I'm hopeful that I am able to use these skills in my clinical work to help as many people from our community one person and one skill at a time.

Currently Accepting New Clients-In our fast-paced culture, we are conditioned to believe that our issues are unique to ourselves and that we alone are responsible for our well-being. This is not only untrue, it is harmful. From the pandemic and the climate crisis to our individual experiences of adversity, we can often find ourselves struggling with isolation, anxiety, and depression. These challenges can so often negatively impact our relationships and sense of self worth, and my goal is to assist you in becoming your most authentic, liberated, and empowered self.

You know the type of therapists they show on TV or in the movies? The therapists who only ask you, “how does that make you feel?” and only speak in dull voices that would make anyone fall asleep? I can assure you – I am definitely not that type of therapist! I am personable, genuine, and laid-back. My style is warm and depth-oriented. I think it is essential to offer a space where you can feel safe to be honest about what is happening in your life. Whether you’re dealing with relationship issues, anxiety, depression or struggling with a life transition, it is the relationship between you and me that leads to insight and healing.

Many of us work really hard to appear “normal,” hoping no one will notice how anxious, burnt out, confused, or angry we are. We often feel lost and alone even though it looks like we have it figured out. We beat ourselves up when we feel like we don’t get it right and we wonder if we’ll ever be able to figure it out. The idea of someone finding out the depth of our struggle is terrifying.

I come with a lot of compassion over the difficult process of attending therapy. Life is a wild ride with so many different variables. Most of us need an external person outside of our system to help us along the way and for different transitions in life. If you find yourself overwhelmed by life, a situation, marital conflict/separation, a person, a job, or maybe anxiety/depression then therapy might be a great option for you.

Is narrative therapy evidence-based?
Narrative therapy is not well-studied, and it may not be as effective in treating mental health conditions when compared with evidence-based treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy. Some small studies do show that depressed and anxious individuals who were treated with narrative therapy reported improvement in anxiety and depression symptoms.
How long does narrative therapy last?
Narrative therapy is less structured when compared with psychoanalysis, for example. Narrative therapy is more open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a few months, and sometimes a year or longer. Patients see their therapist one to two times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a person’s challenges and progress. Individuals can also practice the principles of narrative therapy after treatment has ended.
Does narrative therapy work?
Narrative therapy can help a person manage or reduce symptoms of conditions like depression or anxiety. This type of therapy encourages a person to reflect on the moments of their life when their particular problem was not at the forefront of their minds—perhaps life celebrations, achievements, and other successes. The individual is encouraged to rewrite their storyline as if their particular problem was not part of their life. This therapy may offer benefits that are hard to measure.
What are the possible limitations of narrative therapy?
Narrative therapy is person-centered or client-centered, and the health professional pays more attention to the subjective narratives that are constructed by the client, as opposed to other objective measures. The therapist privileges the individual’s perspective over all others. This open form may feel frustrating for individuals seeking a more structured approach; certainly, no one therapy type will work for every individual.
