"What's happened to my relationship? We used to be close but I can hardly remember those feelings". You may feel that your relationship is more like a chore than a reward. Whatever your struggles, sometimes it takes an outside person to help you get a fresh perspective, learn new skills, or to help you get through tough times. Learning to be more vulnerable with your partner and stopping negative cycles of interaction that bring you apart can give you the tools to help each other use moments of being misunderstood or angry to create increased connection rather than conflict or distance.

As a former collegiate athlete and nerd, I love working with individuals around life transitions, identity, self-esteem, making healthy boundaries, and anxiety. I enjoy working with couples around infidelity and communication, and with adult children and their parents. I work well with clients who are interested in learning why they think and act the way that they do, and are interested in learning how to have more agency in their lives. I believe that our relationships influence how people view, conceptualize, and behave in the world, and that having insight into how our relationships affect us can lead to our own behavior change.

I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families facing depression, family conflict, infidelity, communication issues, trauma, and various life transitions.
My goal is to provide a collaborative, compassionate, and empathic space for clients to heal and explore their past, present, and future. I hope to bring a sensitive, inclusive, and warm therapeutic experience and healing journey. I completed my graduate education/training at The Family Institute at Northwestern University where I learned to embrace systems and work through a systemic lens. This allows me to truly account for the vast complexities of identity, race, relationships, power, and trauma and how this all impacts us, and our relationships/roles, on a deep level.

I’m a big believer that therapy doesn’t have to be buttoned-up or artificial. It should be comfortable and real. I prefer to facilitate a casual, collaborative, & affirming environment where we can openly discuss anything that’s on your mind and empower you to explore who you are and how you relate to others. I specialize in working working with athletes (professional and amateur), e-sports athletes, musicians, poly relationships and fellow therapists in individual, relationship, and family contexts.

I am accepting new clients. We all struggle with adversity at some point in our life. Life has lots of twist and turns. Relationships are rewarding, however they require work. I believe relationships are important because they are our foundation. It can be hard to be vulnerable and seek help. If you find yourself in a rut, feeling overwhelmed, unable to sleep, sad, anxious, depressed or stuck! If you are experiencing difficulties in your relationship, would like pre marital counseling or dealing with trauma...I am here to help you create the meaningful life and functioning you seek.

Things can get so heavy that carrying them can seem impossible. Wouldn't it feel good to finally be able to let go or just get through the day? Running mentally is just as exhausting as running physically sometimes it's even worse. Getting help is key! Hi, I'm Jeff and let me tell you about me. Jeff is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with years of treating people from all walks of life. It is ok to not be ok and we all need help at times. Life can be challenging and there has never been a better time to get that extra help.

How does therapy for infidelity work?
A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.
How long does therapy for infidelity take?
Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.
How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?
When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.
How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?
Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
