I specialize in working with people who have experienced trauma or verbal, emotional, physical or sexual abuse in their families or close relationships. Particularly when abuse happens earlier in life or over a long period, those suffering may develop various symptoms including depression, anxiety, low self esteem, self harm, substance use, and anger issues. I view symptoms as ways of coping that have helped you survive so far. We collaborate in therapy to help you find new ways to relate to yourself and others, and create a more meaningful and satisfying life, however that might look for you.

I recognize that life can be difficult to navigate, especially when we go through difficult life transitions, have an unexpected loss, or struggling with close relationships such as friends and family. Dr. Caylee Ellingson is a Licensed Psychologist (LP) in North Dakota. She believes that authenticity and transparency help to build a solid foundation for growth and change. She believes that the relationship is so important in therapy in order to create a meaningful collaboration. She utilizes a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) approach. She also has specific training in trauma-informed approaches and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).
