I earned my Master's in Social Work at Fayetteville State University with a concentration in mental health and substance abuse. I have experience with working with a variety of addictions including but not limited to: sex, gambling, workaholics, substance abuse, and love/relationship.

We all need someone to attend to us, genuinely listen to our stories and give us space to better understand ourselves and our relationships. I give clients that attention and space. People suffering with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, social media addiction or dependence, insecurity, intergenerational trauma, post traumatic stress disorder and other difficulties are all encouraged to seek my support. I have spent the bulk of my career helping children and their families to deal with a broad range of issues in healthy ways and to realize that their pasts do not have to limit their futures. For more than 20 years, I have enjoyed my practice with adolescents and adults with varying concerns, particularly trauma, depression, and anxiety. From years of working with high risk youth and adolescents, I am also very familiar with the juvenile justice system and with oppositional defiant or conduct disordered adolescents.

Hearing from the heart and seeking help with paralyzing personal challenges can be a daunting experience. Finding someone to connect with in the process of personal healing is half the battle to a solution. Keeping the person at the center of the therapeutic process is a goal for me. I have employed this approach for over 16 years of practice in Western NC. I am a U.S. Army veteran and former school counselor. After five years of counseling in the public school setting, I transitioned to a clinical mental health counselor. During my time in the public school system, I witnessed the trauma and disparities affecting today's youth, which motivated me to seek opportunities with greater impact.
