My approach to psychotherapy begins with establishing trust and a collaborative relationship with clients. I utilize insight to help individuals gain more self awareness, as well as evidence based skills approaches to foster change, achieve mastery and shift patterns of behaviors. I provide support and coping mechanisms to those who are going through transitions, loss and other life adjustments. As a therapist I bring compassion, genuineness and a commitment to help clients prepare to learn, grow and discover their strengths and capacities.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist educated at University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana (B.A. Psychology) and The Illinois School of Professional Psychology (Psy.D. Clinical Psychology) trained in outpatient and medical settings with an emphasis on rapport building, thorough assessment and communication with clients (families and/or providers).
