My work with clients is based on the holistic, transformational model of therapy. In my practice, I integrate the power of the heart through mind, body, emotions, and spirit. I believe in meeting my clients where they are to support and empower them to find solutions to life’s current challenges. By assisting my client’s in raising their awareness; they can make meaningful changes in order to have a more healthy, peaceful, joyful, and authentic life. I offer compassionate and empathetic support for adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating and experiencing a range of challenges including: anxiety, LGBTQIA2S issues, substance use, stress, identity, trauma, and issues Veterans may be facing.

As a recovering alcoholic and drug addict with 35 years of recovery, I enjoy working with other recovering individuals. I have a wide range of treatment therapy expertise to address co-existing issues that often complicate recovery. My professional experience started in 1988 as a substance abuse counselor intern in residential treatment, with later work in outpatient, hospital, criminal justice and military programs where I eventually became a Clinical Director. While I support 12 step recovery, I also offer alternative approaches that are individualized to more closely align with client desires and motivation.

The type of clients who seek my support are both individuals and couples who are deeply committed to their own relationship with themselves. It is this primary relationship to Self that informs how we relate to others. I work with folks who are curious or already invested in living in alignment with their chosen values. I practice through a lens of deep compassion, curiosity, warmth, and radical reverence for grief-work and the reciprocal relationship between Grief and Gratitude. I support my clients through challenges that can ultimately lead to more insight, wisdom, self-love, compassion and a sense of security and well-being.

With thirty years of therapeutic experience and training I have developed proven tools & excellent ideas for deep personal transformation. My approach to healing is based upon sound training, professional expertise and personal growth. It's my belief that a therapist must do her own personal work first in order to be an effective partner in healing for her clients. My focus is helping you find solutions to difficult problems and to help you reach your goals in as short a period of time as necessary. I work with you collaboratively to help you make the changes you want to make. In addition to being a solution-focused therapist, I have a client-centered approach to therapy. This means that your goals are the important goals. With your permission, I also utilize hypnotherapy processes to help you with what you want help changing. I have the utmost respect for you and your process.

In addition to having my Masters in Counseling and Psychotherapy, I attended Southwestern College's Trauma, Grief and Renewal Certificate Program where I became a Certified Grief Counselor. I am devoted to a compassionate and person-centered approach. I take my client's lead and am happy to provide the lead if they feel lost. I continue to study with my teachers, Rev. Dr. Ted Wiard, José Stevens and I am inspired by the work of Dr. Judith Orloff.

I specialize in treating individuals struggling with sexual issues, trauma, substance abuse and addictions, anxiety, self-esteem, self-worth and depression. I also specialize in family and adolescent therapy. I use a combination of CBT, Narrative therapy, and solution focused and humanist modalities.

I have successfully worked with individual adults, adolescents, couples, parents and children in Santa Fe since 1994. I am deeply respectful of people who seek me out. I am a Psychotherapist and Leadership Coach, working primarily with C-level executives and their families. Together, we cover a wide range of topics, from Mindful communication and leadership skills to personal relationships, family and marital issues, addiction, substance use, anxiety, depression, and even self-harm and thoughts of suicide. The pressure of maintaining high-quality deliverables while also managing work/life balance on an incredibly tight schedule is the lens through which I serve most of my clients.

I am licensed in both New Mexico and California. I have experience woke with Military personnel and their families. My therapy style integrates elements from a psychodynamic, humanistic approach, including gestalt, ENDR and behavioral health as well as spirituality and grief counseling. I believe in developing a treatment plan that fits the individuals needs while also taking into consideration the time of life that the person may be in. I have a commitment to the process of self-growth and that of self-discovery that can take place at any age and time. My practice includes individuals as well as couples.

My goals with couples counseling is to provide temporary services that increase the strength and vitality of your friendship while improving conflict resolution and general communication flow to a self-sustainable level. I treatment plan based on a total of 10 sessions:transitioning from weekly to bi-weekly, to monthly, to none. In counseling we will Modify conflict by: 1. SOFTENING START UP, 2.ACCEPTING YOUR PARTNERS PERSPECTIVE, 3. CONFLICT REPAIRS, 4. DE-ESCALATE QUARRELS. This work will continue to improve your relationship after the counseling completes.
