The Center for Specialized Psychology (CSP) was founded by Dr. Nina Badaan Shinway in 2017, with a focus on helping female survivors of domestic violence and other trauma related experiences. CSP's mission is to promote healing and recovery for women who have experienced unfortunate life circumstances. CSP focuses on helping women heal, energize and become aware of their inner strengths. Treatment is provided via a range of theoretical approaches that are integrated and tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual patient. This eclectic approach fosters maximum potential for personal growth and evolution.

As a bicultural and bilingual therapist, I work with adults, families, teens, and kids facing trauma, ADHD, depression, grief/loss, and LGBTQIA+ challenges. I help individuals and families resolve conflict, intergenerational trauma, and work closely with frustrated parents to navigate the social, behavioral, and academic challenges of their children. In my work, I provide trauma-informed care as a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist and am able to bring yoga practices into my psychotherapy work as a Certified Yoga Teacher.
