I am a licensed social worker, dedicated to providing a non-judgmental and safe space for clients to tap into their inner wisdom and learn to trust themselves and this unique process to live more meaningful lives. I take a person centered, humanistic approach and tailor therapy to meet clients’ individual needs. Together we will identify treatment goals, build tools to achieve these goals while processing difficult emotions. Since body and mind are uniquely interconnected, I focus on each person as a whole, using evidence based practices such as CBT, DBT, Internal Family Systems, Somatic Work and use a strengths based approach.

I I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a graduate from Rutger’s University. I am passionate about providing a space where you feel supported and understood. My clinical experience includes working with anxiety/depression, oppositional defiant/conduct disorder, co occurring conditions, sexual behavior problems, substance abuse, emotional/physical/sexual abuse, trauma, family conflicts, self-esteem and anger management.

My eclectic, therapeutic approach is to treat each client uniquely, while providing the support required to empower & attain a full and productive life. I help my clients bring themselves to a level where they are able to function productively and move forward as they author their own changes. Life can sometimes be difficult and there are times when we may need help to navigate our way through it. Therapy can guide us to understand ourselves, to reflect on and make sense of our experiences and to give us the resources to cope with challenging and unpredictable circumstances.

Alyssa is certified in both Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Adoption Therapy. Alyssa has experience with helping adults, children, couples and families in addressing challenges such as depression, anxiety, self-harming behaviors, trauma, abuse, adjustment difficulties, behavioral needs, and family dynamics.

I work well with people struggling with anxiety and low self esteem. One of my strengths is building a person's self confidence and bringing out all their successes and accomplishments. I take great joy in highlighting all the work that a person has done throughout therapy and the progress towards their goals. I make sure to assure them that they are working at their own pace throughout their journey and that I am there to lend support where needed.

Jane has a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. Prior to starting in the mental health field 6 years ago, Jane spent 27 years working in long term care and ran grief and loss and caregiver support groups. Jane also has experience working with the special needs population and has an adult son with Autism so she has personal experience advocating for this population and an understanding of the challenges faced by this population and their families.

Over the past few years, I think we have all been through some trauma, especially our adolescents and teenagers. As a parent myself, I know that kids need an outlet and someone to talk to as they navigate the mental health struggles that have come from isolation and anxiety. It is my goal to help adolescents and teenagers work through various issues that they struggle with including depression, anxiety, PTSD, divorce processing, peer related struggles, ADHD struggles, gender and sexuality issues and many other disorders and struggles that adolescents and teens find it difficult to cope with and parents seem at a loss how to help.

The belief that every person has the ability to implement positive changes in their life is central to my work with clients. My experience working with people who are in various stages of change has been at the heart of Embrace Hope. I take a cognitive and realistic approach to therapy, keeping client goals central to my work. I have a deep understanding of what trauma informed care means, understanding that non-judgement and trust are at the core of healthy relationships. I have extensive experience working with individuals who are living with substance use disorder, in active recovery, anxiety and depression.
