I fully understand the challenges that you are facing in today's world. From my years of experience, I have found that many people have been feeling disconnected and isolated from one another. They might have some trouble communicating or they might feel stuck in their relationships. In addition, social media ( Internet, Facebook, advanced cell phones, Twitter, etc) has created additional challenges for the parents in trying to raise their children. My counseling will help you to learn new techniques to create loving, caring and deeper relationship with others.

In my years of providing therapy to individuals, couples, and groups, adults and elders, I have used various modalities, such as cognitive behavioral therapy as well as psychodynamic psychotherapy to help clients discover what might be holding them back and help them achieve goals and peace of mind.
Welcome! Challenges in life, such as struggling with anxiety, depression or relationship conflict can take a huge toll. That toll manifests in so many aspects of our lives and is hard to manage. Our daily functioning with family, coworkers, and friends can be affected. Having a safe, non-judgmental, and empathic therapy space is key to being able to achieve any goals in therapy.

Grief and loss comes at us in many different way. Feeling lost after a major life transition? Devastated by a prognosis/diagnosis of you or a loved one? Confused what to do as a relationship changes? Sometimes we feel so overwhelmed we don't know what to do, or even where to start. I am experienced in helping people process grief, loss and change while not missing the opportunity for growth while acknowledging how difficult this time can be.

I first want to congratulate you for deciding to take this huge step! Looking for a therapist is not as easy as you would expect it to be. Sometimes the connection is missing or the vibe does not feel right, which often leads to an unsuccessful experience with therapy. Whether you are experiencing grief, or anxiety, or have been feeling in a funk lately, therapy may be the perfect outlet for you to be able to voice these worries and concerns.

I help individuals build fulfilling relationships – with themselves and with others. In order to connect with others we must first have a solid connection to our own self. In order to have a solid sense of self we need to build internal awareness and find language to understand our experiences. When we can communicate about our experiences, we find meaning, purpose, and connection – all factors essential for well-being and overall life quality. From a trauma-informed, relational perspective, I will help you explore the past as well as the present so that you can get the most out of your future.

First and foremost, I commend you on making this decision for yourself and your mental health. Therapy is a bridge that is meant to help others achieve emotional peace in their life. This process is never easy, but my belief is that we are all worth the effort in living a life where we feel emotionally grounded, safe, and secure. Your stress and worries are always valid, and therefore you deserve an outlet, just for you.

Welcome. Accepting new clients. When working together, I strive to make the therapy experience genuine, positive, respectful, safe and individualized. My experience has taught me that the most important aspect of counseling by far is the connection and comfort you feel with the person you choose to share your personal struggles. I believe we can all grow through challenging experiences by increasing our self-awareness. You are the expert of your story and have strengths that will assist you in making the changes you want and overcome the things that challenge you, by increasing your insights and developing coping skills.

We’re pleased you’ve made your first step towards healing. We understand that seeking help, whether for yourself or for your children isn’t always easy. Unfortunately, life doesn’t come with a user’s manual, and when times get tough, many of us are left feeling confused, angry, depressed and helpless. While we can’t provide you with a magical user’s manual to life, we can offer you an ancient symbol of peace, an olive branch. We want to help you extend that olive branch to not only the important relationships in your life but to yourself as well. Because at the end of the day, we all deserve inner peace.

Psychodynamic Therapists
Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?
Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.
How long does psychodynamic therapy last?
Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.
Does psychodynamic therapy work?
Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.
What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?
Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
