My name is Chloe Adel and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New Jersey. I obtained a Masters degree in Social Work from Ramapo college, and I hold most of my experience working with those who have endured trauma, with extensive training in working with those who have experienced sexual violence. I also specialize working with folks within the LGBTQIA+ community, along with those with body image concerns, anxiety disorders and depression.

As a nonbinary, transmasculine therapist who has lived experience and advanced education & training working with the marginalized and oppressed, specifically LGBTQIA+ adolescents, adults & their loved ones, I listen first and speak second. As human beings, we need connection to develop, cope, and thrive. Through an integrative approach tailored to your situation, I work from an attachment-based starting point where judgment has no place in the therapeutic relationship. My experience lies in helping clients (children, adolescents, adults) navigate mental health and wellness concerns, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, social anxiety & fear, anger management issues, life transitions, family and relationship issues, parenting skills, academic & career motivation, oppositional behavior, etc. I utilize evidence-based treatment modalities (CBT & DBT) while incorporating a person-centered approach that borrows from existential and spiritual wellness philosophies. I specialize in working with clients from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds, LGBTQIA+ community, and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in group and individual settings. Many youth are feeling the impact of the political atmosphere, and extreme transitions of their social and personal identities. Our environments are constantly changing, relationships shifting, and therapy can be a place for you to process your feelings and experiences.

I work with individuals who struggle with challenges associated with eating, alcohol, prescription medication and mental health issues. If you have struggled with substances or believe you may have an addiction; have problems with eating whether binging, bulimia, have had or are thinking of weight loss surgery*; and/or if you suffer from a mood disorder, I may be able to provide tools to support you in facilitating balance in mind, body and spirit. *Weight loss surgery is a specialty as I have been working in this field since 2001. I am certified in Telebehavioral Health and practice is HIPAA compliant.
