When people feel understood and secure in the therapeutic alliance, they begin to live life fully.
Hi, I'm Lisa! Are you someone with personal goals and professional aspirations, but imposter syndrome takes hold despite your efforts to achieve your dreams, and the fear of failure paralyzes you? Maybe you're like many of the folks I work with who ruminate over the past or anxiously plan their future to avoid mistakes and risk revealing their secret: You don't have it all together. You long for acceptance and deep connections, but instead, your relationships are fraught with drama and people who lack emotional maturity.

As a therapist, I have seen how compassion and courage are among my clients’ greatest strengths for dealing with life difficulties.
If you struggle with anxiety or depression, it's likely that you readily engage in self-criticism, ruminate often, and avoid activities you want to enjoy. I provide therapy that combines a warm, accepting style with therapeutic expertise. I am certified in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and integrate other approaches to match my client's needs. I will use my skills to help you change self-defeating thinking and behavior, manage difficult emotions, and deal more effectively with the obstacles that keep you from being your best self. I'll work with you to develop a personalized plan for therapy and map out positive steps forward.

Struggling to fully engage in your life, or watching your child struggle can be incredibly challenging. Untreated anxiety disorders and OCD can severely restrict social, academic and professional opportunities. More distressingly, they can trigger anxiety and panic attacks that leave you feeling exhausted, alone and powerless. Through our work together, teens and young adults are able to reclaim a sense of normalcy in their lives, with a personalized therapeutic program, in a safe, judgement-free environment. You'll find yourself ready to take on challenges you never dreamed of and enjoying peace in your day to day life.

I work primarily with young adults (college, 20-30 somethings) and adolescents through various life changes and transitions, that include relationships and social issues, academic stress, and significant life changes like new jobs or location changes. Significant change is a normal part of adolescence and young adulthood, but it can be a stressful and confusing time. I've also worked extensively with psychiatric issues such as phobias and OCD and have significant experience working with young people who were recently diagnosed with chronic illness or are experiencing health anxiety

Connection is our basic human need. We need to be heard and understood. Loneliness, even when in relationship, isolates us from each other and from ourselves. I will work with you to help you find connection; to help you believe you have an inner voice that is worthy and to challenge you to see yourself differently than you have. I look forward to working with you

Hey everyone! I'm Janell and I first want to congratulate you on being brave enough to seek professional support. Self-care and mental health can be scary and sometimes we feel there is still a significant stigma surrounding psychology. I was born and raised in northern New Jersey and my main goals are established in further giving back to the individuals in our communities. I love using mindfulness and self-care to help people heal and ultimately feel whole. It is important to understand an individuals level of readiness in order to clear the path for powerful, meaningful change. I create a judgement free space to promote openness.

I'm Ted Rostiac, Licensed Professional Counselor and Life Coach.
Imagine your life with less stress from anxiety and depression. When issues related to family, relationships, work, academics, athletics, ADHD, money, social situations, children, negative or judgmental people, greif, uncertainty, and loneliness, becomes particularly dissatisfying or problematic people react to it with feelings of anxiety and depression. As a defense against those feelings, people develop maladaptive behaviors such as anger, withdrawal, avoidance, compulsions, or substance misuse. When these inappropriate defenses are used people's performance and overall satisfaction with their lives is affected. I help people learn to effectively deal with these problems and live happier and more fulfilling lives.

Life Coaching Therapists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
