My ideal client is at a place where they are ready and willing to accept their issues and want to do therapeutic work. They may have issues with depression, anxiety, or substance use. They may need to work on self-acceptance, medication management, or developing and implementing coping skills.

Freshstart Referral Systems is a 501C3 faith-based non-profit organization that provides education & mentoring to individuals with life controlling issues, such as substance abuse/co-occurring disorders and or a history of incarceration. We provide individual/group support, we refer individuals to the appropriate treatment centers for help (Detoxification units, outpatient care, long-term inpatient treatment)… so that they may get a “FRESH START” again in life. FSRS also provides alcohol, tobacco, and other drug education for schools, churches and other organizations in the New Jersey and New York area.

It is hard to say what my ideal client is because I believe that I am capable of working with various types of people and that each person is unique. Even with a "challenging" client, I have learned a lot and found value in the work. With that being said, my ideal client has a history of trauma that has impacted their ability to connect with others and themselves. They are struggling with body image, intrusive thoughts, and anxiety about how others are perceiving them. They want to be empowered to advocate for themselves when necessary and create a wellness routine that serves as a preventative measure for mental health problems.

My ideal client is one who is willing to explore uncomfortable areas in their life and understand that vulnerability is part of the process. One of the most important parts of therapy to me is highlighting accountability and what roles we play in our own lives. I enjoy working with clients who are struggling with relationship issues, self-esteem, irrational thinking, and life adjustments. A client who can pinpoint what they would like to improve in their life and request a little bit of guidance along the way is an ideal client. Their goal is not to be perfect but to improve their day-to-day life a little more each day.

I have experience working with men and women of all ages who are dealing with stress, anxiety/depression, and unresolved trauma and loss. I am passionate about hearing your story and journeying with you to explore your therapeutic needs/concerns. I will also help you identify core issues such as life transitions, stressors or negative core beliefs, or cognitive distortions and provide the support and tools that you need to achieve your therapeutic goals.

I do not have an ideal client since I have worked with all different populations. If I had to specify, I would want to work with an adult struggling with life’s challenges, such as adjusting to college, dealing with a breakup, struggling with self-esteem, managing family stressors, employment concerns, and/or substance abuse. This person would want to improve the quality of their life, process their thoughts, and work towards creating change to live a healthier and happier lifestyle. Their goal may be to improve their way of thinking, have extra support to process their thoughts with, and become the person they would like to be.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor with over 20 years in the clinical setting. My mission is to help individuals and their families become healthier in order to have a better quality of life. I use a holistic approach, blending elements from different modalities in order to tailor treatment to clients' individual needs. I treat a wide range of mental health and addiction issues, though my expertise is in mood and anxiety disorders as well as substance use disorders.

I love working with all different types of clients, and I find that I learn from those that I work with. I love working with anyone who wants to make a change or achieve a goal.

I enjoy working with clients who are willing to work with me to get them to where they can thrive in life. My ideal client is curious about themselves and the world and actively participates in the therapeutic process. I enjoy working with young adults and older adults, but I'm not limited to these populations. My ideal client is at a place of feeling "stuck" in their life. Whether that be a career transition, deciding on a college major, feeling lost in a relationship, or a new onset of symptoms. I am also comfortable with helping individuals unpack their past to understand their current habits. My ideal client wants to understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to develop self-awareness and self-compassion along the way.

My ideal client has a desire to heal and change their life. They must approach the counseling journey with openness and curiosity. It does not matter what issues or needs they bring to me because together, we can make magic happen and their goals and desires come to fruition. The most important thing is again that willingness and desire to change.

Hello! My name is Allie, and I am a professional counselor. I decided to become a counselor because I enjoy being a support system. I have worked in partial care transitional housing facilities and have an extensive background in providing outpatient counseling services. I use a trauma-informed, holistic, and strengths-based approach with all my clients. I also commonly use CBT, MI, expressive therapy, and solution-focused strategies in sessions. Most recently, I was trained in TF-CBT by the CARES institute for adolescent survivors of abuse.

I believe strongly that clients come in all different shapes and sizes and from different walks of life. Therefore, I do not have an ideal client, as my wish is to help anyone who needs it regardless of their experiences, needs, and goals. I welcome the experiences I will gain from having diverse clients.

My ideal client is someone who is motivated and ready to work on themselves. They are a client who attends each session as scheduled and on time, coming into it with an open mind and willingness to grow. The client would ideally be an adult who is within the LGBTQIA+ community and is coming to me to work on bettering themselves. Their issues would include depression, anxiety, and questioning their gender and sexual identity.

My ideal client is someone who feels like their life just isn’t working - maybe they’re struggling with unresolved anxiety and depression or leaning on alcohol or marijuana a little too much to cope with everyday stressors. Maybe they’re going through a big life transition or just aren’t satisfied with their relationships. Whatever their current issues are, this person wants to feel better but doesn’t know how to get there. They are open to therapy and ready to see where it could lead them.
