I believe there is no sole approach that can treat each client in all situations. Within the therapeutic relationship the client and myself work toward short and long term goals to help one achieve mental wellness and ultimate happiness. I utilize different approaches and different theoretical orientations depending on the symptoms at hand. It is my passion to support and help you, but also encourage and confront negative situations to find healing and ultimately optimum mental wellness.

As a therapist in the field 30 years, I bring both understanding and caring to the therapeutic relationship. I often say to my clients, making the first step to enter therapy is often the hardest, but once done, the journey can become life-changing and healing. I bring to my practice, an open and non-judgmental attitude, which is focused on the client. We will work together to make your therapeutic experience a success.

I approach my work with sensitivity and in response to the needs presented by the individual or family. My professional work demonstrates an ability to respect the individual needs of others when, at times, life presents expected or unexpected challenges. I believe a non-judgemental approach in practice helps to support individuals as they take a new approach to old and new challenges. Margaret is a certified training and supervising analyst and is on the faculty of The Institute for Psychoanalytic Studies where she teaches several courses in both the child and adult training programs. Margaret is an author.

It takes strength and courage to seek help. I applaud you for making it this far. I am a lifespan LPC and expressive arts therapist. My work is primarily with children (and families), adolescents and young adults, though I do additionally see adults individually as well as couples. Parents and individual clients alike often come to me with concerns of anxiety, depression, self-regulation, behavioral issues, performance challenges (school, sports, work, etc.), and life transitions, just to name a few. I largely utilize mindfulness-based techniques as it is only with present awareness that we can change our lived experiences.
