I see so many people who aren’t necessarily unwell, but feel trapped and unable to make progress in their lives. They’re "going through the motions" – and getting caught up in issues that they could actually solve quite easily. It breaks my heart when clients believe they can’t fix their unresolved issues – and that the history handed to them dictates their future. My gift is helping my clients recognize their unique mental strengths and natural skill sets, so they can navigate from the uncomfortable present toward a more empowered future.

I'm a clinical social worker with 10 years of experience. I have a upbeat, creative, warm and non-judgmental personality which clients report make it easy and natural to open up to me. I believe that therapy is an avenue to self improvement, healing and transformation. I see myself as a guide who supports clients in their journey of personal and emotional growth. I help clients become more self-aware, improve self regulation and coping skills, heal from previous stressful/traumatic experiences, enhance their communication skills, and understand their emotions at a deeper level.

At The Artemis Center for Guidance, we work toward reducing emotional suffering. This is accomplished through direct counseling services and psycho-education provided by highly skilled and compassionate clinicians and, through the development and instruction of training programs that will provide other professionals the skills to offer exceptional services to those in emotional pain. I have been working in the human services field for over 25 years and have experience with many different people. I have studied transpersonal and applied psychology in undergraduate school and I have my Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling: Clinical Mental Health Track. I have always loved helping others find insight into their lives and watching them flourish. Every human being has the potential to thrive and there are no lost causes. Handspring is a modern mental health clinic that provides personalized, evidence-based behavioral care for children, adolescents, and young adults. We currently serve children ages 10-18 and young adults ages 18-24 who are looking for treatment for anxiety, depression, or behavioral difficulties. Our therapeutic approaches include CBT, DBT, organizational skills training, behavior therapy, exposure & response prevention, and parent management training.

I am a Licensed Social Worker with a passion for decreasing the stigma surrounding mental health and promoting the health and well being of my clients. For my undergraduate degree, I moved from Central Jersey (Yes! It exists!) to South Jersey to attend Stockton University. I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work with a Minor in Behavioral Neuroscience from Stockton, and then moved on to attend graduate school in Philadelphia. I received my Master of Social Work Degree with a clinical concentration from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice in May of 2020.

My mission as a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor LCADC, is to see you free from the struggles of life situations without the use of alcohol and other drugs. Life is full of trials and tribulations, but you can overcome them with the necessary coping skills. I want to be able to assist individuals with a holistic approach and allow individuals be their authentic selves by setting goals to change.

Amber Monserrate, MS, LPC, LCADC is the owner of Advanced Counseling Services, LLC and the director of The Gloucester County IDRC. Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Clinical Alcohol & Drug Counselor with a Master's in Psychiatric Rehabilitation Counseling. Amber is also an adjunct professor at local colleges teaching counseling and psychology. Trained in providing various assessments and therapeutic interventions for mental health (such as anxiety, depression, trauma) and substance use disorder. ACS now has a male and female therapist.

As a LAMFT my goal is to help couples who are struggling; and to help couples find enjoyment in the blessings of marriage. I currently work with individuals, couples, & families who are struggling with trying to repair damaged relationships, improve communication & affection; and make sense of past trauma. Through my work as a priest, I have been blessed to have helped many individuals & couples have happier, healthier relationships. As a psychologist, I was trained using methods developed long ago. Many of those methods work effectively; however, we are in a different place now; times have changed, people have evolved, and our environment is entirely different.
