I created this practice as a place where families can receive support for developmental disabilities, special needs, and psychological disorders across the lifespan. The majority of our referrals are to investigate specific diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Anxiety, Intellectual Disabilities or other developmental disabilities. Therapy is rooted in a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy model and we place a great deal of importance on the therapeutic alliance we build with patients. Our passion is to provide supportive, educational and therapeutic services to assist the growth of the child from birth and beyond.

If you have found yourself in a pattern of unhealthy relationships or behaviors and have struggled with behavior change, my approach to treatment will likely be a good fit. Finding the right "fit" with a therapist can be a challenging process and is often one of the most important ingredients for successful outcomes. I have experience in working with anxiety disorders, personality disorders, depression/bipolar disorder, OCD, and adjustment disorders. I conduct formal psychological evaluations for diagnostic clarification/treatment planning, as part of pre-surgical clearance, and domestic and international pre-adoption evaluations.

As a college student, you have a lot to navigate - classes, relationships, family, friends, work, and career planning, all while keeping up with the day to day stuff. Sometimes it just feels like too much. You’re trying to stay afloat but it never feels good enough. You thought college would be fun but instead you’re exhausted from pulling another all-nighter and stressed about the massive amount of work still ahead. You’re trying to stay focused but distracted managing all of the thoughts in your head. You just want to feel in control of things. You’re worried about how you look, what others think of you, the future… everything.

Accepting New Patients! Are you tired of feeling anxious, stressed, or stuck in your life? If so, I'm here to help. I LOVE working with people that are ready to make a change! You see, effective therapy takes work. The type of therapy that I do, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is very active, collaborative, and educational. During our sessions, we'll practice new skills ("tools") to help you reduce anxiety, improve mood, and feel more in control of your life. The advantage of this approach is that many people experience notable improvements in just 3-4 months. This is many times faster than traditional "talk" therapy.

Being a person is so hard, isn't it? Each day we are faced with countless choices & responsibilities - it can be overwhelming. Having a trusted, safe, non-judgmental person to listen and be with each week can make a HUGE difference, and I learned this firsthand! Maybe life doesn't look the way you thought it would by now... Maybe you're struggling to heal after experiencing trauma or loss... or Maybe you're a member of GenZ trying to hope for a future without confusion, judgment, injustice, or pain... As a fellow human, I'd be honored to experience this "rollercoaster" alongside you. The ride is often better with Two!

Hoarding Therapists
What is the most effective treatment for hoarding?
Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) has been well-studied in the treatment of hoarding. This type of therapy includes changing beliefs surrounding possessions, as well as learning how to discard items and reduce acquisitions. The hoarder may also gain much-needed organizational skills. Another useful therapy may be compassion-focused therapy, which can address emotion regulation and negative self-perception.
How long does therapy for hoarding take?
Although treatment can vary, most people demonstrate improvement after 23 sessions, with some showing improvement after just a few sessions. Researchers have developed a 26-session cognitive behavioral program. People who hoard may need “maintenance” sessions over the years if the problem arises repeatedly.
Are there medications for hoarding?
The more commonly-prescribed medications for hoarding are including antidepressants, including selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), and serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs). This can include drugs such as venlafaxine and paroxetine. And because hoarding disorder is related to obsessive-compulsive disorder, medications for OCD, such as clomipramine, may be effective for hoarding as well.
Can hoarding come back after treatment?
Hoarding is a chronic disorder and it can last throughout an individual’s lifetime. Regularly checking in with a psychotherapist can help manage symptoms long-term. A good therapist will help the person learn needed skills including decision-making, organization, and stress reduction. The patient will gain a better perspective and the need to cling to useless items will lessen.
