One of the most crucial aspects of therapy is feeling a connection with your therapist so that you can feel comfortable while working toward reaching your goals. It is my hope that together we can work through old patterns, new struggles, negative thoughts and feelings, as well as life transitions in a positive way that will lead to lasting change. I use an interactive approach with the hope of offering insightful feedback in a nonjudgemental setting.

I also work with teens and young adults working through grief and trauma, both through an individual lens and within relational context.
When I think about what life is about, I always come to the same conclusion: relationships. These relationships—whether familial, platonic, romantic, or even with ourselves—cannot help but influence every aspect of our lives. As a therapist, I help clients not only maintain but also strengthen and enforce their relationships; I draw from a systemic lens that utilizes Narrative and Solution-focused approaches.

I provide emotional support to clients and families undergoing life transitions brought on by age, death, illness, trauma, and changes in family structure, among others.
As a Licensed Social Worker, I will work alongside you to define and work towards your goals. I approach all clients from a strengths based perspective, which has been shaped around the philosophy that people are not fundamentally fragile. We are not cut down by hardships and tribulations, rather, we may be strengthened through thoughtful and practiced responses to stressors and pain. I will help clients use these principles to promote their strengths and to improve confidence and functioning. Although I have experience with a variety of populations, I am especially versed in grief work.

The primary goal is to help them process the grief of the past relationship and the abuse, all the while empowering them to become the strong, independent individuals they aspire to be.
My ideal clients are women who've recently realized they've suffered from narcissistic abuse. These brave individuals seek therapy whilst feeling sad, confused, scared, and angry, torn between the truth and the illusion of their past relationships. At first, they struggle to identify and express their needs due to codependency. My goal is to provide compassionate support and guidance to help them navigate this challenging journey towards healing and self-discovery.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
