Have you been feeling stuck with your negative emotions? Do you still feel sadness and emotional pain after years of treatment? Does it seem that no one understands your problems and that you feel “alone”? There is no simple formula to solve unwanted and unresolved emotions. I work with chronic anxiety and trauma, including generational trauma. In my practice, I emphasize the mind and body connection and incorporate Eastern philosophy to maximize the effectiveness of the treatment.

Lets be real. You’re in a bad spot and the last thing I want to do is bore you with optimistic clichés full of toxic positivity and lofty promises of healing and wellness. If you are having a difficult time adapting to everything going on around you and these “unprecedented times”, or if you are frustrated with the collective vibe to just accept crappy circumstances, you have come to the right place.

You, like so many of us who have survived sexual abuse, often find yourself struggling to create and keep healthy relationships. More often than not, you have a hard time standing up for yourself. You have worked so hard to make yourself feel safe, confident, steady, and worthy. You seek peace at each sunset and hope at each sunrise. Still, there are times when the nightmares haunt you in your sleep, and the flashbacks freeze you when awake. You seek escape from the trauma of your past, but rarely find long-lasting relief. You want to emerge from the turmoil of your past and find your Paths to Healing.

I specialize in working with adolescents and adults who are struggling with all forms of eating disorders and disordered eating. Clients who come to see me may have just been diagnosed with an eating disorder or have been struggling for years. Some clients aren't sure if they have an eating disorder, but know they are struggling with food and their body. Clients often reach out to me because they know that I practice from a Health at Every Size(R) framework and they want treatment that is not stigmatizing about weight. Adolescent clients and their families often seek me out because of my expertise doing Family Based Treatment.

Do others see you as someone who has it all together? Inside, are you feeling like you're falling apart? Do feelings of emptiness consume you? For many women suffering with emotional wounds, anxiety, isolation and hopelessness can become a daily part of life. Sometimes managing painful times from the past intrude on their ability to enjoy the present. Sometimes compulsive eating patterns, substance abuse, spending or even relationships seem like the only way to numb the pain. You don't have to face it alone. We can work together to find new solutions for wellness, healing and recovery.

Loving and loving well takes courage, but even the most courageous couples don't have it all figured out. That’s why I’m here: to support couples as they take greater risks to develop (and re-develop) trust, gain understanding, deepen intimacy, and restore connection. I understand the unique challenges of relationships and know how deep hurt and regret impact connection. I also know the long-lasting positive impacts that therapy can have on couples deciding whether to stay together, how to get unstuck, what to do to stop fighting, and how to forgive.

I have over 12 years experience treating adolescents and adults from diverse cultural backgrounds. I believe therapy should be a collaborative partnership in which we work together to restore healthy functioning. We will identify triggers and destructive behavior patterns that contribute to emotional stress. We can then work together to develop constructive coping skills tailored to your specific clinical needs. My counseling style is one of compassion and support. I strive to create a comfortable environment in which clients feel free to express who they are and how they feel without fear of judgement or rejection.
