“Life is full of ups and downs. The trick is to enjoy the ups and have courage during the downs.” Throughout our life, each of us will experience stress, trauma, or a crisis that can trigger overwhelming emotions, making us feel out of control. Even exciting occasions such as marriage, a new career, or the birth of a child, come with change and can make us feel anxious and unsure in a way we have never felt before. My goal as a therapist is to help my clients cope with and navigate these changes.

“Start by doing what’s necessary, then do what is possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible.” My therapeutic approach is client-centered, focusing on strengths and empowerment. I believe every person is unique, possessing their own special gifts and strengths to be drawn upon in their personal goals for change and growth. My goal is to assist individuals to address the complex and painful challenges they are facing with the realization that no situation is too difficult, nor any unhappiness too great to overcome. Focus is placed on the ability to view stumbling blocks of life as building blocks of character and strength.

Beginning the therapeutic process takes courage, and can be a difficult first step to make. I believe that by using a direct approach, a safe environment is established that allows clients to process and grow. I enjoy collaborative relationships that enable clients to create and achieve desired goals.

Our emotional well-being is integral to our physical health. Individual or family therapy can enhance our ability to manage life's stressors, such as sudden or chronic illness, family conflicts, financial strain, or interpersonal problems, which can lead to anxiety, depression and physical maladies. Therapy is beneficial to people who struggle with a mental illness, such as clinical depression or bipolar disorder. Enhancing insight into our problems, along with the development of healthy coping skills is empowering, and can often mean the difference between facing each day with confidence or avoidance of living the best life possible.

Everyone deserves to be seen and heard for who they truly are. Sometimes, due to life experiences and events, we lose track of who we are. We are left feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, sad, lost, angry, and not ourselves. Let's work together and explore all the possibilities your life has to offer you.

We Old Soul Women are here to change the world, but we can’t do it when we are hopeless and unsupported.
If you are a high-achieving woman of depth who repeatedly hits it out of the park, who is tireless in the pursuit of excellence, who leans over backward to make sure everyone around you has what they need, and makes continuous effort at work, in relationship and as a parent, but feels exhausted and depleted by it all these days, it may be time for a chat with someone who can mentor you back to yourself! For many of us who are DRIVEN to serve, to uplift and to nurture others, we may not realize until too late the impact on our presence, passion and power. If you're finally ready to get your mojo back, give me a call.

Ideally, we use an eclectic approach with therapy. Encompassing one particular approach is not beneficial - a "one size fits all" is counter therapeutic and does not allow the client to find refreshing avenues to discover abstinence/sobriety. Coupling our therapeutic approaches with Self-Help immersion, or non-traditional means, is well received. Additionally, we focus on developing a relapse prevention plan from the very first session. We call these "living, breathing documents which change throughout treatment". Please feel free to call with any questions you may have for yourself or loved one.

One of the most important factors of successful counseling is to have a good connection with your therapist. Every person entering therapy deserves to have an individualized approach that will meet their specific goals. At Mindful Solutions NJ, we offer a free initial phone consultation so you have the chance to learn about the therapist you would work with prior to committing to fees or a long-term therapeutic relationship. During your consultation, we'll discuss your reasons for seeking counseling. You'll also have the chance to learn about your potential counselor's education, training and counseling approach.

As someone who has OCD, I know how hard it is to find the right treatment from someone who truly understands. Being a therapist allows me to provide that care and support. I believe no one should have to struggle alone. I provide OCD therapy with a non-judgmental and supportive lens; my other areas of focus include anxiety, depression, and adjustment disorders. I love to watch my members progress. It's amazing to see how resilient people are, and how hard they're willing to work to make healthy changes.

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. I know sometimes the journey to finding help may be bumpy. So give yourself some props for making it here. At times we all face struggles internal, external, and often a combination of both. I have observed that often we can feel stuck from these experiences, even if we’ve tried to move on from them. That is because we need a little guidance to process and repair the internal sense of disconnection that remains imprinted in our system. It is my hope to help facilitate a path towards increased sense of connection, finding more ease, feeling better, and move towards the life you want.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
