Born and raised in New York and now embracing New Jersey as my second home, I've dedicated my career to supporting individuals, families, and couples as they navigate the complexities of depression, anxiety, addiction, and more. Language and culture are bridges to understanding, and as a fluent speaker of both English and Spanish, I strive to make those connections with a diverse range of clients. My work, particularly with youth and families, focuses on addressing the unique challenges that arise within the home environment. We'll develop a greater psychosocial education and explore therapeutic methods tailored just for you.

Do you struggle with the pressure of being seen as the “strong” one? Does this cause you to prioritize others' needs over your own? Do you feel disconnected from yourself and others, often causing you to wonder, “is this all there is to life?” Now, more than ever, the feelings of anxiety, overwhelm, and uncertainty are present in day-to-day life and relationships. I offer a custom approach to each of my clients. We begin with understanding your current state of being and current life stressors. Then, we collaboratively create a plan to help you move closer to your desired outcome, and we celebrate your successes along the way.

The first step towards healing can be reaching out for help, which is also the hardest and most difficult part. Having been on both sides of this process, my goal is to make that as easy and seamless as possible for you. I aim to create a non-judgmental, safe space for each of my clients. No matter how great or small the issue, I will work collaboratively with you to help you navigate life's hurdles, while exploring all of the factors that have created your own unique self, and embracing the changes or transformations you hope to obtain.

My ideal client is female, male, or nonbinary and is kind and generous, has good ethics, and loves to help others. They have been experiencing low self-esteem and have been numbing out emotions through food, technology, work, or other distractions. Their numbing-out practices have held them back from being their authentic self, productivity with work, maintaining healthy and loving friendships and relationships, having enough energy, and their overall self-esteem. They are ready to commit to putting in the work in therapeutic services to help them develop and maintain healthier coping skills.

I specialize in Anxiety, ADHD, Autism, Depression, and Trauma. As a member of the Association for Play Therapy, I look for ways to include playfulness in treatment for children, adolescents, and adults. I provide individual, family, and group therapy services. Together, we look to develop goals that connect the person inward with their thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and body—at the same time, looking at how they connect socially with the world around them. To help to have a better relationship with themselves and others.

Do you feel invalidated and misunderstood by the people in your life? Are past experiences making it difficult for you to build and keep healthy relationships? Life hasn't been easy. You're still grappling with the lingering trauma and grief from your past. Life’s painful experiences have affected relationships with your partner, children, parents, or friends. You've made efforts to improve your situation, but nothing seems to change. You might also feel like you are walking through your situation alone.

I love to connect with teens, adults, and couples to overcome things like family conflict, relationship issues, academic and social challenges, anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem issues, and grief. With adults and teens, I draw on CBT and attachment techniques to strengthen connection and communication within families and help clients gain insight, develop a healthy identity, and meet their goals. With couples, I use the Gottman Method, an evidence-based approach to resolving conflict, feeling understood, and increasing emotional connection. Narrative Therapists

Is narrative therapy evidence-based?

Narrative therapy is not well-studied, and it may not be as effective in treating mental health conditions when compared with evidence-based treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy. Some small studies do show that depressed and anxious individuals who were treated with narrative therapy reported improvement in anxiety and depression symptoms.

How long does narrative therapy last?

Narrative therapy is less structured when compared with psychoanalysis, for example. Narrative therapy is more open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a few months, and sometimes a year or longer. Patients see their therapist one to two times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a person’s challenges and progress. Individuals can also practice the principles of narrative therapy after treatment has ended.

Does narrative therapy work?

Narrative therapy can help a person manage or reduce symptoms of conditions like depression or anxiety. This type of therapy encourages a person to reflect on the moments of their life when their particular problem was not at the forefront of their minds—perhaps life celebrations, achievements, and other successes. The individual is encouraged to rewrite their storyline as if their particular problem was not part of their life. This therapy may offer benefits that are hard to measure.

What are the possible limitations of narrative therapy?

Narrative therapy is person-centered or client-centered, and the health professional pays more attention to the subjective narratives that are constructed by the client, as opposed to other objective measures. The therapist privileges the individual’s perspective over all others. This open form may feel frustrating for individuals seeking a more structured approach; certainly, no one therapy type will work for every individual.
