The majority of my clients are adults who are seeking ways to manage depression and anxiety, which may be acute (short-term) or chronic (long-term). The most common issues are associated with relationships, family dynamics, adjustment to new situations, bereavement and end-of-life care. I also work with those caring for loved ones with dementia and other long-term illnesses.

I work from a patient-centered, DBT perspective in partnership with clients struggling within the range of severe and acute eating disorders, persistent emotion dysregulation, chronic suicidality, and trauma/PTSD. Redefining your quality of life and getting out of your personal hell is possible. My clinical work spans New Jersey, New York, and my team based in Ohio, so please do not be surprised by different locations! My practice is based on the understanding that many clients have suffered overwhelming, traumatic, or adverse childhood experiences regardless of whether they are coming to therapy specifically due to these experiences. With compassion and care, I approach every session from a trauma informed lens. Instead of asking, "What is wrong with you?" I explore, "What have you experienced in your life and how might these symptoms be a response to it?" I am also particularly sensitive to the needs of often undiagnosed adults with ADHD and how trauma and the ADHD brain are interconnected.

I have experience helping clients with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, polyamorous relationships, sexual issues, and trauma. My approach is flexible and down to earth using research proven techniques. I am also a Gender Specialist who provides assistance to transgender, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming adults, adolescents, and their families as well as writing the letters necessary to obtain gender affirming medical care.

For over 30 years I have worked with individuals and their families to assist them in feeling better about themselves and their lives. My specialty includes working with individuals who struggle with depression, past trauma and loss and bereavement. I work with families to hep them to improve their communication and relationship. A large part of my work with families has been with adolescents and their parents. I have extensive experience working in the Jewish and orthodox Jewish community.
