I believe we all have the potential to evolve. My approach uses an integration of techniques: EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Internal Family Systems, Somatic Tracking, meditation, and psychoanalysis/psychotherapy,. We all have stored conditioned patterns of behavior that helped us survive but holding onto these patterns may be causing you issues in the present. Our work together will assess these patterns and help recondition new ways of response to allow for more choice, less overwhelm, and wiser relationships.

The way we think truly affects how we function in our day to day lives. When we get so stuck in our thoughts, we can forget how far we have come to get to where we are today. We may lose sight of our strengths, our willpower, our motivation to strive for the life we deserve and are worthy to have. As your therapist, it is my goal to help restore that hope in your life. Deciding that you may need a little extra help is a courageous step to take and I welcome you to your safe space. My belief is that anyone with the courage to seek guidance to better themselves has the ability to attain a fulfilled life.

I view therapy not as a quick fix for problems but as a transformative process that empowers clients to cultivate self-awareness, develop coping skills, and harness their innate strengths to navigate life's challenges with resilience and authenticity.

I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in group and individual settings. Many youth are feeling the impact of the political atmosphere, and extreme transitions of their social and personal identities. Our environments are constantly changing, relationships shifting, and therapy can be a place for you to process your feelings and experiences.

Inner Clarity, LLC is a group private practice comprised of professionals with varying areas of specialization. Our main goal is to provide a warm, inviting, and relaxing environment for our clients to engage in individual, family, couples, and/or group therapy with a professional who is skilled in meeting their clinical needs. We are an out-of-network provider and would be happy to verify benefits prior to starting services. Our office is able to bill out of network directly, so patients are only responsible for coinsurance at the time of service after deductible is met, and any balance outside of what insurance covers.

I feel that most people really just need someone to listen. Especially when they feel like they cannot go to family or friends with issues due to fear of being a burden or feeling embarrassed. Sometimes, we just need a little helping hand and compassion.

Substance Use Therapists

How do substance and drug recovery or rehabilitation programs work?

In inpatient programs, individuals live in a facility with other clients in recovery; in outpatient programs, individuals reside at home. These facilities are staffed with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, counselors, and psychotherapists. Staff often also includes people who have recovered themselves, serving as mentors and guides. These programs may use abstinence, harm reduction, detoxification, psychotherapy, and other methods.

How do 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?

Members of 12-step programs help each other reach abstinence and work to maintain it. These programs promote complete change in the individual’s emotional, mental, physical, and even spiritual perspectives. Some programs require that new members attend 90 meetings in 90 days. Many people do attend these programs in conjunction with their work in psychotherapy; the combination of therapy along with 12-step can be extremely effective.

How does harm reduction combined with psychotherapy work?

According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, harm reduction prevents death, injury, disease, overdose, and substance misuse. People who choose harm reduction for substance use reduce the amount of drugs they consume. It is not abstinence-based like a 12-step program, but combining harm reduction with psychotherapy proves to be effective for many people.

Are there specific medications for substance and drug use?

There are medications approved to treat substance use disorder—such as buprenorphine, methadone, naltrexone, and acamprosate. These medications do help people cope with substance use as well as avoid the problem of relapse. Naltrexone can help reduce cravings, methadone is an opioid medication used to treat severe pain, and acamprosate may help ease symptoms like poor sleep and anxious feelings.
