Practical spirituality and energy psychology are always fun to incorporate into my work.
I am at ease in working with trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, grief and anger management. Whether due to current difficulties with relationships, work health or change, or longstanding issues with self esteem, addictions or behavioral problems, my practical, interpersonal style is comforting and effective. I can provide clarity in many cases, and support deep, value-driven insight, when the problems you are facing are confusing and you are having difficulty making authentic choices. My clients receive attention on multiple levels including body-brain-mind-energy-emotion-thought-heart-spirit and soul and grow in awareness of themselves on these different levels.

My approaches to support you include techniques learned through Energy Psychology including EFT, Heartmath, brain spotting, as well as exploring lifestyle habits and patterns that may contribute to mental health.
Welcome to my practice, Shore Awakenings. Ever ask, "why me?" We know life can be unfair, but it does not have to feel like a life sentence of discomfort and pain. Besides, darkness cannot exist without light (and vice versa). If you are open to the notion that life consists of lessons to help us better ourselves as humans then let's connect! Like many, I am familiar with trauma and loss, but still aim to see the beauty that life has in store. It would be an honor to support you. I also work with pre-teens to adults. I offer a holistic and integrated approach to my practice. Learn more at my website, www.shore-awakenings.com.

Welcome! I'm an artist and therapist helping people reduce stress, explore purpose and foster personal growth through art, painting & creative expression. Sessions are a safe space to play, release, enhance self-awareness, and build resilience, all through the power of art. No experience needed—just an open mind. Maybe you want to feel more joy, less criticism and connection to your body. Maybe you're dealing with stress, life transitions, or seeking self-discovery. Some wish to setup an art practice and would love the accountability and safe space to create. Still, you may be someone who feels complete with talk therapy.

If we do not know who we really are, we often can find ourselves confused and lost, which can lead to depression and anxiety, which can then mislead our consciousness. Two most important keys to resolving our problems are “self-discovery” and “self-love”. Only then we may start understanding the people around us and the world we live in. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I counsel individuals, couples, and families in dealing with depression, anxiety, relationship issues and/or life transitions such as pre-marriage, marriage, becoming a new parent, divorce, and post-divorce.

I’m literally obsessed with what I do! I have a unique approach combining traditional talk therapy with somatic, body based practices like EFT tapping and energy psychology, as well as my therapy dog, Marlee, and art therapy.
Are you realizing that your childhood was messed up? Maybe you thought "no big deal!" to your parent's behavior or past childhood experiences, and you're now seeing it was actually traumatic. Take a deep breath...You're in the right place. You don't have to live with the darkness of your past, and I've helped 100+ clients feel relief. My passion is helping clients heal from past childhood traumas/abuse or emotionally immature caregivers in adulthood, so that you can feel less triggered in everyday situations, feel at ease putting up boundaries, and create meaningful, and loving relationships.

I have also done many trainings in mood disorders, anxiety disorders, couples therapy, adolescent therapy, addictions, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness and energy psychology.
Life can sometimes feel and be very complicated. As a psychotherapist in private practice for 25 years, I work with adults, adolescents, families and couples. The way I approach working with people is to create a compassionate, intelligent, non-judgemental, therapeutic space where a person can feel safe, heard and understood. A person can then be more at ease with talking about their concerns and problems in an authentic and meaningful way. I welcome people from diverse backgrounds, ethnicities and family structures.

Change is inevitable. It doesn't matter if you are going through a marriage or a divorce, employment, new addition to a family, illness, or a sudden death of a loved one - the energy it takes to adapt to new circumstances is highly stressful. This stress can create havoc with your body and life goals. Through many years of listening, I have grown to understand the complexity and depth of the impact of these changes on an individual. The way that I can best help you is to: label the change; replace outdated habits with more effective ones; and to help you see how you get in your own way from achieving your life goals.

Footprints was started by a therapist who realized that often times the services provided to low socio-economic communities is lacking quality care. We noticed these communities were confronted with long wait times, disrespectful admins, and subpar treatment. The one and only purpose was to exploit the community for profit without providing the level of care deserved. Feel Better Therapy began from the inspiration to provide quality mental health care to the poorest of communities and treating the clients of this community the same way a rich patient would be treated in a clinic treating affluent clients.

I am a dedicated and compassionate worker who cares deeply for the people I treat. I have worked with people who struggle with relationship and spiritual issues, family problems, job-related issues, women's' issues, and help those who wish to improve their communication skills. I hear you - life feels like a constant struggle now. But you're here because you know there's more to your life than feeling like a f*ck-up, out of control, or living behind a mask. When there's so much outside noise, misplaced expectations, and uncertainty about your value to the world, it can suck the life right out of you. It doesn't matter how many boxes you check off your list, or how many self-help books you read, things don't click into place. If they do, the change certainly doesn't last.

Energy Psychology Therapists

What are the roots of energy psychology?

Energy psychology is a relatively new modality, yet it combines older techniques from both Eastern and Western medicine—talk therapy and exposure therapy from a Western orientation and energy fields and healing touch from an Eastern orientation. Although these techniques have long existed, they were developed into today’s form of energy psychology and brought to the fore in the 1980s by psychologists including Fred Gallo, Roger Callahan, and David Feinstein.

Is energy psychology a short-term therapy?

Energy psychology is a brief intervention, designed to provide relief to patients quickly. The exact number of sessions a patient requires varies depending on numerous factors, including the condition being treated, the technique being used, and the practitioner's approach. Some patients may begin to improve after only one session. Proponents of energy therapy point out that it is relatively easy to learn, so clients can practice some of the techniques on themselves at home, such as the acceptance, acupressure, and affirmations used in emotional freedom technique.

Does energy therapy work?

The exposure therapy techniques involved in energy psychology, such as recounting a traumatic experience to the therapist, are evidence-based and have long helped individuals address trauma, phobias, and anxiety. As a whole, the practice isn’t as validated as other techniques, but it may be healing for some. Energy psychology involves exposing a client to a distressing memory, object, or situation in the therapy room while providing acupressure or tapping to relieve distress, which is thought to lower the stress and arousal of the body that had become associated with the relevant stimulus.

What are the limitations of energy therapy?

A disadvantage of energy psychology is that the research supporting its effectiveness is not as robust as research supporting the effectiveness of other therapy types, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy, specifically the component of body tapping and touching. Some research on energy psychology has also been critiqued for being methodologically flawed.
